I truly cannot say enough great things about this place. Not only are they far and away the best, most finely curated dishes in Moab, but the ambiance and the staff are really just the icing on the cake. From the moment you walk in their doors, you’re welcomed by a fine mix of high end decor thats comfortable, warm, and inviting. Once seated, I was greeted with some of the best table-side service I’ve ever received in all my time visiting this town. Everyone is well-informed and makes you feel right at home. Even the Front Desk Manager went out of her way to hand-write suggestions for a pair that was heading out of town the following day. It’s so heartwarming to see people in the service industry who genuinely care about making those connections with their guests.
I had the pleasure of starting my meal with the Butternut. If you get the opportunity to speak with Chef de Cuisine, Troy Szczotka, and learn a piece of his story, you’ll understand just how much love he puts into each one of his dishes (not only that, but you can definitely taste it). They’ve even found a way to make healthy food taste like comfort food (i.e try the Cauliflower!). And I’m certainly not the only one who thinks so. At the end of my neighboring tables meal, I heard them agree to cancel their other dinner reservation the following evening so that they could come back to il posto rosso and try everything that hadn’t gotten to the first time.
I will absolutely be back each time I visit Moab!!

Fine dining in Moab with locally sourced ingredients! We have been coming to Moab for over 25 years and this was one of our most memorable meals here. We had reservations, but others were walking in and being seated quickly. We started with delicious roasted cauliflower and a refreshing and not too sweet, cucumber margarita. My husband’s hanger steak was perfectly prepared with a beautiful tomato and herb salad including edible chive flowers. He is usually very particular about his steaks and this was the best one he has had in a long while. My short ribs were unusually lean (which made them even better) and deliciously spiced, served with a cilantro and red jalapeño salad. We finished with an exceedingly tasty budino (butterscotch and rum pudding). We will be back!

What a lovely dining experience in Moab! Staff was friendly and food was delicious. We had stopped in earlier before they were serving dinner and had mentioned that it was my husband‘s birthday… they surprised us with a little lemon cake. So yummy! My daughter is a picky eater and enjoyed her fresh made pasta, too!

Ok so saw the menu for this place in the local restaurant guide. The menus looked interesting. The food is amazing. Very knowledgeable staff. Such great food can’t say enough. You won’t be disappointed I promise.

This is a small space with opened kithchen, which means the smoke and the cooking smell is all over the small dining space. Also, they asked for 22% servicd fee as default, however, we tried to change the dirty plate for 5 minutes and they were too busy to offer the service. What's even worse, the food is not good and very very expensive. Overall, don't waste your money here!

There were only 2 other tables so we expected more than was delivered. The server had zero personality and basically couldn't recommend anything on the menu other than saying, yes that's good. The cauliflower was still excellent. And that's about the only positive thing I can say about this $200 birthday dinner. The pork was okay til I cut into the other side of the chop and found red meat. I'm okay with pink, but the red looked to be under medium rare even. The mushroom bread pudding had decent flavor but was served cold and I had to ask if it was on purpose (it wasn't). But the blistered tomatoes were meant to be cold (okay, but odd). Server said they could warm it back up or discount etc. I told him to just keep my plate, I was disappointed. The peach pasta special was completely underwhelming, although the description sounded good perhaps it was poor execution? The risotto was edible but crunchy, at least something to fill me up. It was my birthday so they offered a dessert after I asked for the check and voiced that we were disappointed with almost everything and ready to leave. No discount, automatic gratuity, not so much as an eff you from the chef that could clearly see 1 of his 3 tables did not have a good meal.
I doubt we will come back. The hostess was very friendly. I think they were much newer when we came the first time in October of 2021, unfortunately it seems the good has worn off as you can see below we had a 5 star experience previously. 3 stars is being generous for today.

**Also just pulled the free birthday cookie out and it's hard enough to hammer a nail in the wall. Hahaha at this point it's almost funny. But in a very sad and expensive way. **

Best food in town. The entire experience was amazing. The mangalisa was SO good and I don't even like pork. The service was impeccable from everyone on staff. We are so happy Liz at The Gonzo Inn got us a last minute reservation for our honeymoon to make up for our lack luster experience at the sunset grille. Take their recommendations, but I don't think there could be anything bad on their menu. Well worth the price! The fried cauliflower and magalisa special were our favorites recommended by Colton!

This is a nice place with an upscale feel. There is a 22% gratuity charge added to the bill which in this case is fine because the service is excellent. I had breakfast which was good as was the cappuccino which one would expect with a name like il posto rosso.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Fantastic menu, interesting specials that appear to change regularly, dedicated to local sourcing (farm to table) and fantastic service. It was clearly a team service approach which worked like a well oiled machine. Located at lobby level of a hotel. Appreciated the vegetables and pescatarian options!

We had an amazing dinner at Il Posto Rosso! The service was great, Anna was very attentive. The food was out of this world! Hands down one of the best meals I’ve ever had. And we loved being able to see the Chef preparing our food. Highly recommend.

Because the breakfast was so good, we came back for dinner. Chef Troy has a gift with blending ingredients to give taste buds an experience. Again, plenty vegan and vegetarian options. Seasonal delights.

A fresh and delicious. Most items were able to be made vegan. Avocado peach toast was amazing. Veggie hash 😍
