The General Public

I typically do not write reviews but our service at this restaurant last night was absolutely deplorable. After ten to fifteen minutes of waiting, no one had approached our table so we had to ask for service. A server finally came to our table but when we asked for paper menus, she threw them on the table and left. Eventually another server came over and, thirty minutes after our arrival, we finally placed our orders, noting that during that same time period three other groups had been seated and were already drinking/eating.

Perhaps it was our age (we were at least twice the age of the other diners) or perhaps it was the obvious lack of a manager/supervisor on site, but the poor service continued. Three drinks were served, we had to wait for the fourth; three meals were served, again necessitating a wait for the fourth. Two of the entrees were so overdone they were nearly inedible. I’ve experienced poor service or bad food while dining out but never have I nor my party been treated with such disrespect and lack of professionalism. We asked if they were short staffed but were assured that was not the case. It was obvious that the 5-6 servers had time to chat at the bar and serving us was an inconvenience. Needless to say, this was the low point of our trip to San Antonio.

Food was okay, atmosphere was fun. Service was terrible!! Took forever to get a waiter to the table, no drink refills offered, waiter never checked on our table after food was delivered. Had to go to the bar for drink refills, chase down the waiter for the bill. Just a poor overall experience.

I’m here with my son Cameron and his roomie Leah so already stating out a good day. Next we come into this homey and fancy bar. Our waitress was Alexis and manager Christian and then our food came out. Everything was THE BEST. Thank you for everything Alexis and Christian

What a cool atmosphere! Excellent service! We all left stuffed, and just stopped in for lunch! The salad was so big two people each took home half. Small-ish menu but the food is superb!

I was pretty excited to try this place based on the menu pictures, but was sorely disappointed. They were out of both the appetizer and sandwich I wanted. With such a small menu, it's a pretty big letdown to have only backups to choose from. Our waiter spent the time away from our table, on his phone...held in the kitchen warming window for food...while I waited for a sauce for my fries. The sauce was forgotten while my food sat chilling at the table and I had to eventually flag him down to ask about it. It was a slow Tuesday evening, but not slow enough to not take care of your guests. The food was ultimately tasty but slightly soured by the experience. The manager stopped by after our backup choice appetizers arrived, but I honestly didn't realize that he was in charge of anything until he mentioned his title at the end of our interaction. By the time we were having the latter issue, it was clear to me that this wasn't going to be a great experience and I just wanted to "get out of dodge."
I really hope this was a fluke and that normally everything runs smoothly and the food offerings are full and the staff acts professionally, but I don't know that I would want to send anyone there to find out.

It my first time visiting and I was thoroughly unimpressed. The restaurant wasn't very busy, but the waitress rarely came by. We were slow to get drinks and slow to get refills. When she checked in after we got the food, she didn't even stop, just kept walking while she talked. what made the service even more annoying was that there were 2-3 other staff around the floor just doing nothing. The food itself wasn't great. I ordered a salad, but everything was so salty (chicken, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, etc). We got three entrees and a few drinks for a total of $72+tip, which felt expensive considering the quality of service and food.

We tried this place for a Sunday brunch. The service was exceptional, and the staff was accommodating for our large party. The heated patio offered a very nice setting on a cool Sunday morning. My only complaint would be not having a children’s menu of any kind and very limited menu.

We went in for dinner tonight. We had to ask for a server after 15 minutes (while at least 3-5 servers hung at the bar chatting) - when the server finally showed up we asked for paper menus which she threw on the table and stomped off. A different server showed up 15 minutes later letting us know she was asked to take care of us by the first server (really?). We should have known better and left at that point but we did not. They served 3 drinks out of the 4 and waited another 10 minutes before bringing the 4th drink. They served 3 meals out of 4 and waited another 10 minutes before serving the 4th. Two of the meals were overcooked. All this to say that we felt targeted - like somehow we were wrong to ask for service? It was too coincidental the way the drink and food were served - downright rude. Getting the check was another ordeal - we actually toyed with leaving without paying - I don't think anyone would have noticed. Again, most of the servers hung at the bar chatting most of the time we were there. Maybe a supervisor to oversee the playground is in order? We were incredibly disappointed.

To be honest, I've tried to like this place. I've been here on 3 separate occasions, and the food has always been mediocre. Add high prices onto that, and it becomes difficult to return to, or recommend, this restaurant. On our latest visit, we decided to try brunch. To start, we ordered the "Peanut Butter & Banana Fresh Bread", which was basically exactly what it sounds like, except for the "fresh bread" part, as it was slightly stale. I ordered the Steak & Eggs Migas. The tortillas were soggy, the steak was mostly gristle and fat, and the eggs were cold. My wife ordered the "Shrimp and Grits". The shrimp smelled very strong and were not fresh, and the cauliflower "grits" were runny and cold. This meal was *not* worth the $50 tab.

If you're looking for a cheap happy hour with "just okay" appetizers, it might be worth a shot. Otherwise, I'd steer clear.

$18.95 for a Cheeseburger, ridiculous. It was not even flavorful. Seats not comfortable. Small menu selection.
But this is only my opinion. Service was good is my positive thing to say.
