The General Public

The staff was nice but the food was a big surprise. Ive tried fish and chips at many restaurants, but none is as good as this place!

Wow! In case you have been wondering where all the great bar tenders have gone, I found one! Caleb did an amazing job understanding our needs. He suggested some amazing tequila. At the end, he created a special drink for each of us. Mine was amazing, whiskey, honey and total goodness.

Absolutely terrible- attempted to try this restaurant for the first time. we ordered two appetizers 16 minutes later we got one- the server appeared disorganized. The manager said the lay was because of the wings. When people around us were over charged and another couple complained about their food. Go to Russo- it is always amazing

Great food and drinks. My friends and I went on a Saturday night and it wasn't too busy. They had good live music going on as well.

So, I don't normally leave bad reviews. I like to keep things positive. But this was a universally bad experience at every level.

We arrived at two pm on a Sunday. It took awhile to get seated, despite there being open seats. They didn't seem to know which ones were reserved or not.

We were finally given a table. We waited a minimum of 15 minutes before a waiter came by. We ordered drinks to get started. When they came out, they were partially incorrect.

We waited approximately 45 minutes before receiving our food. In fairness, they came by and apologized twice for the delay. The second time they came by they offered an appetizer. We accepted but it never materialized.

When we finally got our food, we didn't have any utensils or napkins. When they came, after the food, they had hard water marks on them. Not a big deal, but not really in keeping with the quality expected at the rim.

The food was the worst part. My fiancee ordered migas. What she got was a small pile of scrambled eggs with some stale chip bits on it. I ordered the enchiladas. I received two tiny lil enchiladas in some sauce. They tasted a bit stale and were overcooked.

We will not be returning.

Came to celebrate anniversary with my wife here and grab dinner and a drink. Can’t say enough great things about our server Coco and the experience. Her recommendations were awesome and made the afternoon feel special. Thanks Coco! Will be back soon!

Very nice outside patio, good appetizers. We enjoyed our Sunday evening!
The beer was a bit pricey.

While the host was genuinely nice to us upon arrival for lunch, we felt as if we were impeding the bartender's daily tasks/routine. The burgers and cuisine were quite unremarkable and the restaurant seemed old and reeked of sour, spilled beer. Left a nice tip anyway. Dine elsewhere if you are mobile.

The menu had a nice variety of choices. Not too much but not too little. Fish and Chips were good. The Italian Grinder was ok. I was surprised that it was served cold. The TPG Burger was good. A little too much of their sauce. Overall food was good. The place was clean and nice atmosphere. The disappointment was the service. The server was mediocre at best. Most of the staff seemed more interested in chatting together by the bar/kitchen area than taking care of the customers. It was slow too. Not many tables for a Sunday evening with plenty of staff.

Caleb is the best and most ridiculous fun of all! If you come to visit General Public ask for his amazing service !!! Seth rocks and these two are the most fun too have in the Rim. Seth and Caleb ensure the best night in SA !!!
