Blockhouse Coffee & Kitchen

I've been here 3x, so I feel like I can review this place accurately.
Overall, I think it is overpriced/the staff is hit or miss with friendliness.
$7 for a small drip and espresso? I'll pass.
Sometimes the barista is nice and friendly, other days you get the ones that are cold/impersonal/annoyed.
The location is it's redeeming quality, because it does have outdoor seating near the front and back. It's very cute inside.
The baked goods have been pretty good, I've gotten a croissant and cookie. Will I be back?

Eh. Probably not, unless absolutely necessary. The staff's friendliness is very important to me. I can look past price, but not that.

One of our favorite local places to start the day. Super cool vibe and awesome staff! Great place to take your laptop and work.

This place is awesome! The staff is friendly, the store is clean, and the food/drinks are superb. I especially love how the baristas make an effort to get to know you and remember the regulars. I will definitely keep coming back.

Of course their coffee is delicious and delightful but let's talk about their cookies. . . Hands down - the best chocolate chip cookie I've ever had. The green snickerdoodle is also great. This was my first visit and I had the BLTA - 5/5 WOULD RECOMMEND. My 15 y/o had the adult grilled cheese and it was gobbled down before I was even able to ask for a bite. My 4 y/o had the kid's grilled cheese and I was able to taste it and wow - 👏 😋 😍 it was amazing. I added the side salad with my sandwich and it was great. Simple and fresh and the house vinaigrette was so tasty. I added an iced turmeric ginger tea as well and really really enjoyed it.

Great place to eat and there is a park in the back with tables so it is an equally great place to take the kids to get rid of some energy.

It's a great study area or a place to bring children. The lighting is nice and bright so I don't have to worry about my eyes straining. Their vanilla latte is the best I've had in a long time! I just wished they had a lunch menu to select from or a few more pastry selections. But their coffee is great!

Cute little coffee hub with great food and even better coffee. The aesthetic here is really simple, modern, and minimalist. Has a very zen-like vibe. Staff was nice, but parking was difficult due to the undersized, overcrowded parking lot. Still, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone I liked and will be back for more coffee real soon.

I had a Cortado and it was the best I have had in a long time. Temperature, flavor! It was really good. Definitely recommend this place if you want to have a good coffee.

I tried this coffee house a week ago and I’ve been back 3 times already! I am new to this town and wanted to find a charming coffee house near town to enjoy and relax (Starbucks just wasn’t an option at this point, to commercialize for me) i love to support small business so I googled away. I came across BlockHouse ! The coffee and latte are delicious here. The coffee isn’t bitter or bloating and neither is the espresso. The beautiful detail they put into the latte art is unique, I’ve only tried the coffee beverages and avocado toast, which was also great btw. My niece tried the vanilla bean frappe and agreed it was also delicious. The environment is warm and inviting and the customer service is always friendly and helpful ! There is a small library to choose books from to read and free wifi for studying. The cute outdoor patio is a nice addition to this already awesome place ! I am a Houston native who lived near the heights area where there are tons of coffee shops and none made me feel more at home with great coffee than Blockhouse. The prices are reasonable, They do close at 3pm and have an awesome point/reward system so I suggest you sign up! Apple/google pay is also accepted.

Great indoor & outdoor space. Had local vendors outside selling fresh greens, jellies and sweets. Loved the food and the coffee.

Everything we ordered was delish. My fave was the avocado toast. Chai latte was yummy. Nice outdoor seating which was lovely since it wasn't too hot. Staff was friendly and fast service.
