Farm House

First time visit to this establishment and impressions were good! I had the fried catfish (to go) and it was really good. The fries were excellent. My husband had a burger and was very impressed with how fresh the vegetables were and it was a good size. I look forward to eating here again!! Service was quick and efficient.

Staff were nice and the food was good. The catfish had good flavor and a nice crunch. The burger was a good classic diner burger. The firecrackers were a nice appetizer. The peach cobbler was decent. Overall a good place with good food.

We always enjoy the Farm House. They have a great menu of home cooking favorites. The service is excellent and everyone always seems to be smiling.

You can't go wrong with the burgers or the chicken fried steak but HOLY COW the pork chops are excellent! We haven't tried the desserts but they have a great variety of them. Maybe we'll save room next time.

Friday night, 8pm, Nov. 4th, 2022. Started with fried pickles: nice and light. Shared between 4 and was plenty for each of us. I had the (4) piece catfish, which was very good. Soft and not chewy - cooked right. Wifey had the patty melt and it was also very good. The hush puppies were super good! Little jalapeño and onion flavor in there - um-um! But then the finisher was the peach cobbler and ice cream. Oh yeah!! Friend had the oysters and said they were just right. Two meals, a beer, glass of wine, extra hush puppies (oh yeah), and cobbler totaled $50. If your traveling through Mexia you need to stop here.

No Shadow Banning!!! Yippy. Back again for our annual Mexia stop over. It's great to be back in the 254!! Arrived about 1800, the joint was packed. We were seated promptly and our server was Mas bueno Central Texas Friendly. The food was well prepared and reasonably priced for what you got. The Farm House is a great place for some down home chow! Being from South Padre Island, we left the seafood menu alone and focused on the basics. The Chicken fried steak and patty melt were excellent.. This establishment is a nice restaurant located on the main drag. Check it out if your hungry.. Looking forward to our next encounter.

What a surprise GEM in a sleepy rural town! The food was great, the service was fantastic. The portions were very generous. I met my son that was in Texas for business and this was the halfway point. The staff was kind and let us just visit for a while, no pressure to leave and the sweet tea kept flowing! Thanks Farm House for a GREAT afternoon!

What a fun experience. The food was amazing and portions large. We shared a fish & shrimp combo plate & had leftovers. The waitress was friendly & helpful with fast service.

Not sure what is happening here at this restaurant. But we didn't even our food. It was just "off". My children didn't even eat there steak fingers or the hamburger. Also, our waitress was in a rush, walked off as I was still trying to order. Didn't refill our drinks or even ask if we wanted more. Only thing going good for this place is the decorations..Its not worth it IMO and will not be back. On and out bill for 5 people was $117... cheapest thing was my husband beer smh.

Ordered the rib eye medium rare, both steaks brought to me were well done and thin and chewy. Ordered my daughter the sirloin and hers was cooked way better. My waitress was awesome. But the $23+ piece of cardboard I received will keep me from going back.

Catfish was very good. I also really enjoyed the beans. The fish was fresh and prepared just perfect. The breading was light and very tasty. The server was very friendly.
