Liked the old style atmosphere. Food was good.

I drive all the way from San Antonio visiting in Mabank and leave on Sundays to go home and the Mabank Cafe is always closed for breakfast. Disappointed.

Great place to eat. They have an awesome breakfast buffet on the weekends that is WELL worth the money. On Friday night's they have all you can eat fried catfish that my husband loves and says it is good white meat. We have never had anything we did not like. Everyone is always very friendly.

We were not impressed at all, and it's too bad because we live a few blocks away...
The waitress seemed like she was under the influence of a controlled substance. The portions are small. Biscuits and gravy were very disappointing, even to this northerner. In general, the people were not warm or welcoming at all. The waitress began taking plates without asking if we were finished.
It _is_ very inexpensive, but that is likely due to the fact that it is very small portions and plain food.
It had a cold and unimpressive dinning atmosphere, too. We have been there twice and do not plan on going again. We would rater drive to Canton and eat Dairy Palace or grab Kolaches from Donut Palace.

My wife and I ate here for the first time 11/9/18 for our 5 year anniversary. I had the all-u-can-eat catfish with mashed potatoes and collard greens. My wife ate the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and fries. I will give credit where credit is due...Our food was great. No complaints there. However, we were highly dissatisfied with the service. Our waitress took our order a brought us our drinks but never returned to check on us. She did not refill our drinks or bring me more fish. The owner brought our food to the table...not our server. On top of that, we had to get the attention of the other servers and even the busser in order to get service. My wife got so frustrated that she got up and walked out. I stayed an extra minute to at least finish my plate and just as I was about to leave myself, our original server finally decided to come over to us. By then, it was already too late. It wasn't exactly swamped in there either. There were other customers who appeared to be being taken care of without issues. My wife and I were disappointed. As I said, the food was great and that's the only reason I gave it two stars instead of just one. This could have been a much better review had our service been better.

Food and service was great! Was disappointed that they stop serving breakfast at 11am, but understand their reason!!

Biscuits, gravy, bacon, and eggs. What could be better?

For a country food joint, I thought it was good. They didn't have fried mozzarella sticks, but its not my opinion they should, 😂😂
Fried mushrooms were good (also something I don't associate with country food joint). The smothered hamburger steak was good, fried catfish, and the chicken fried steak was great!!
They have thick toast, but IT'S NOT TEXAS TOAST!!! To me, this is just blasphemy, but if you coat it in gravy, you can still eat it.
Mac and cheese, no good and came out cold.
Staff is down to earth and kind. The atmosphere is kind of non existant, but may have just been the time we were there.
I'd go back to this place if given the chance.
