Shoo-Fly Soda Shop

Stopped here while on vacation in Glen Rose and LOVED it. The owner is a sweetheart, the shop is so fun with lots of unique gift, home decor items and the ice cream was soooo yummy. It's a definite must stop when in Glen Rose.

The decor is really nice. Huge selection of things to purchase. Very nice old time small town feel. Friendly staff. We where there during a car show and the place was packed. Maybe the equipment couldn't handle all the customers because unfortunately the soda was watered down and uncarbonated. Will visit again when back in area and give it another try.

Small, very soda shoppe, menu of PBJ, grilled cheese, etc. I had the egg salad sandwich, w potato chips and a dill pickle slice. Hand dipped milkshakes with lots of flavors. My fav was a real cold rootbeer float, got shivers toward the end. Shoppe is filled w gifts, candies, toys. Nice road stopp. Friendly people.

They've had this shop for a week, as of this post, and they have big plans for it, to get the soda fountain working properly, so they can run a classic soda shop. For now, they have a Panini grill, a shake spinner, and a huge selection of Dublin sodas. The Reuben was very good, and I had a chocolate malt to go with it. Excellent.

The Reuben sandwich was great. Pray one day my son, "The Sandwich", will come to enjoy one with me... (his name is Reuben).

We stopped here for dessert after a ridiculously good burger from The Green Pickle and after two bites of ice cream my oldest told me he wanted to live in Glen Rose so he could come to Shoo-Fly every day. It's a fun place with great treats.

What a cute shop and a old time feel of ice cream parlor! One of the best ice cream sodas! Loved it!

This place is so cute and delicious! We had like 5 drinks/malts for under $13. The staff members are all friendly and quick to serve you. 10 out of 10. We loved it.

Very cool throw back experience. Old diner vibe. Great ice cream and cool candy shop also. I highly recommend this place!

If you are looking for a place that takes you back...... This is it. Now I have done reviews on soda shops before and this one connects to one of those. In the past I have a review on Dublin bottling company in Dublin texas. Well this week coming home we stopped in Glen Rose and I noticed that the shoo fly sold Dublin drinks, even though Dublin is 40 miles away. So we stopped in and had a look. It didn't just sell those drinks but had a lot of goodies in it. I got my wife a cherry smash which she had never had and bought some Dublin drinks. The shoo fly is a nice little place where you can soak in a time when life was simpler. If you are in Glen Rose stop here especially if you are a fan of soda shops.
