Mescalito Coffee

Tried to support a local coffee shop instead of the souless behemoth, but three mornings in a row, they weren't open (8am-915). One of the days they were in there but just watched us walk up and away. Never fear coffee lovers; across the street, about three doors down, is a wonderful coffee and gift shop, so good we went three days straight and it's locally and family owned. We never like to leave 1 star for locally owned so we'll give it 2 for benefit of the doubt and will try again next time we are in town.

Updating my star rating. Accidentally put as 3. I gave 4 stars because they didn't have a large coffee selection. I went here for the first time and was looking for a better coffee choice option than Starbucks... which lacks in serious customer service. I did a Google search for coffee places near me and went based off great review ratings.. Mescalito customer service is great, store was cute and clean... especially loved their sweet, sleeping pooch. Only suggestion is a larger coffee selection with more options.

Lovely space to grab coffee and a delicious pastry. Was in town for a wedding and loved having a place like this to hang out during the day!

Super tasteful and enjoyable coffee. The owners passion for coffee goes into every drink made. Hospitable folks and staff with an awesome store (Ballad of the Bird Dog) to browse while you wait on your drink of choice. No matter the length of the line, THIS coffee is worth the wait.

Love this place! Great coffee, they treat it as a work of art, great service and one of our favorite places in Brenham to hang out. Mescalito Coffee is located inside "Ballad of the Bird Dog" store which is one of the best names/brands spotted in a long time --- really cool. Love their merchandise, unique and has a cool vibe to it!

Great pastries, coffee, shopping and hangout environment in an historic downtown Brenham building! One of a kind. You can’t recreate that unique experience.

Unquestionably, the best coffee in town! We moved here less than a year ago and I have to admit, I was a bit worried I would not find the perfect spot to grab a Almond Milk Latte or another favorite, the Golden Milk Latte. I’m so thankful that I was able to find this spot for some good coffee. The atmosphere inside is vibrant and welcoming. You will be served by the friendliest and most personable staff. I took my daughter to Brenham to take her driving test for her driver's license, and afterwards we stopped here so I could sit and do some work. The coffee was really good, but the options were limited. You are not going to find your mocha java shake with an extra shot of espresso here. But the place is really... my daughter called it "cute", which in today's teen lingo, I take as high praise. I'd say the atmosphere was a "Better Homes and Gardens" kind of vibe with lots of places to sit. No couches, which I love in a coffee shop, but plenty of good sitting space.
