Great local place to sit, eat and relax.

I was returning home from a week long vacation with my family when the urge for a cinnamon roll hit us. I found The Mercantile Cafe on Google Maps and we hurried there as they were closing in 30 minutes. When we arrived they had sold out of cinnamon rolls. The owner must have seen how much we needed a cinnamon roll and offered to bake more if we could wait just 20 minutes. I've never had that happen before in my life. While we waited she and her staff were very attentive and the atmosphere was saturated in welcoming southern hospitality and nostalgia. When the cinnamon rolls arrived they were delicious! We've already decided this is our go to place whenever we are close by or have a sudden desire for cinnamon😊

This is a great place with a great atmosphere! The food is home style cooking and is delicious. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this place!!

Saw this place on NPT Tennessee Crossroads and decided to give it a try. Was not disappointed. The fried chicken was delicious. The variety of sweet confections unsurpassed. The Coon Hunter Cake was delicious. Plan to order one for the next holidays gathering. Great service.

Amazing southern food. So fresh, so delicious! Owner Renee is so terrific with customers. Everyone who comes in is her “new” or longtime best friend! Can’t wait to go again!

Lovely setting just off the square. Renee and Mysty are class acts. The food is superior Southern cuisine. Higjly recommended.

Omg some of the best fish I have ever eaten. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back. Oh and their desert selection is awesome

Yesterday was the first time I had eaten there and Oh my goodness!!! Talk about taking me back to my childhood Sunday dinners! The food was so delicious. I'm definitely gonna be a repeat customer 😊

Was a neat decorative place to just look at all the stuff they have hanging up, sitting around & can even buy. Not to mention the food was delicious. Several choices to choose from as well w/reasonable prices.. all employees were very nice & made us feel at home welcomed!!! Highly recommend !!
