This place has the best bagels in the area! We have eaten here several times and it is consistently delicious. The staff is always cheerful and helpful, answering questions or offering suggestions. It is busy at times, but we’ll worth standing in line. There is an upstairs seating area if it is a little too crowded on the main floor.

I've lived in Kingsport most of my life but only recently tried this a couple times. Both have been great, and I really appreciate how they make stuff in house a lot. For example, the croutons that came with my soup seemed to be made of bagel pieces. They have savory stuff, which is my jam, but they have sweet options and a few non-bagel sandwich alternatives.

The hands down best bagels & atmosphere! This is my favorite breakfast or lunch place. I wish they would put one in Johnson City! I would be there every day. There’s nothing that better. I’m a bagel person always have been and this is THE BEST. If you haven’t been GO. If you get bagels somewhere else you will stop. Everything is great including coffee.

Great service, beautiful and wide variety of bagels. You can have it prepared however you like for breakfast. I had bacon, swiss and tomato on pumpernickel and it was delish. The dark roast coffee was very good.

Best bagels in town. You can get breakfast bagel sandwiches or lunch bagel sandwiches. They are homemade and fresh. We went for breakfast next I would like to try lunch. They also have muffins and scones. I had a blueberry scone and loved it, I also had the cheddar bagel with cream cheese. My husband had the cheddar bagel with cream cheese and bacon, our cousin had the french toast bagel with butter. Everything was delicious. Try them out, you will not be disappointed!

This may be the best bagel sandwich I’ve ever had. Super friendly staff.

I have to say that these are truly the best bagels outside of NYC! We are bagel people and I am thrilled to say that these are legit! If you have never tried their bagels, you need to run, not walk over here to buy some. My son in law, who frequents NYC, thinks these are even better than the ones in NY. I believe that they are very good.

Being raised in NY and traveled around the country as well as Israel....I know and love bagels. Moved here a few months ago and have tried Wheelers bagels (which are better by far)...we waited for the right day and made our way over to the Exchange yesterday.
With all the ppl waiting in line you wld think it was far above everyone 's elses bagels but it was a mistake to go. We spent 45$ on a bakers dozen bagels with 2 large cream cheeses.
Watched them steam the bagels...ok...I have only experienced boiled ones...but they were not steamed very long. And because they were soft and mushy....they were not baked long enough either.
And they were very thin and squishy.
There was a hint of bagel texture but that was it.
Now...the sour cream....they do not use real cream cheese....they use a cream cheese spread which has an oiler shiny surface and lacks any flavor.
Every member of my family jumped at the chance to have real bagels and tho we prepared for everyone to have 2 each...we were throwing away most of the first bagels because they simply tasted awful.
So between the poor quality of the bagel, the cream cheese (??) And ultimately the price...
WE WILL NEVER GO AGAIN.
It was a huge disappointment.
Too bad cuz the menu looked sensational.
But nothing else measured up

Really really solid bagels at this joint. Tons of variety between the bagels and the spreads. I wanted one with pastrami but of course they were out. Got there early on a Saturday morning and there was a healthy amount of people there already. We a bought a half dozen for the house and a jalapeño cheddar with scallion creame cheese and a plain onion bagel, both were delicious. Will return to try more of The Bagel Exchange. Friendly, prompt service. 5 stars and recommend.

Delicious!!! Soo many options and everything was incredibly delicious. The cream cheese was Def homemade, it was creamy and soft, not like the store bought. Also got Salmon bagel and the Buffalo Chicken bagel. Everything super good. Cute little place, on street parking.
