First of all the food was phenomenal 5 on the scale ( we shared the Pilau ). The bartender and Host was great. Chefs were non-stop and on point.
I can't say the same for the service from the waitress though 0 on the scale. We were never asked about how the food was. We had to run down the waitress to order wine. Was never checked on. The dessert list was thrown on the table and waitress walked away. No description was given. Service not the best for a birthday weekend and a first timer in Charleston.
We were offered a comp but declined. Minimal tip was given.

The most underrated Chef in Charleston and one of my favorite spots in Charleston. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu and the cocktails are on point. Great service and atmosphere. Highly recommended.

The food here is 4 or 5 stars depending on the dish. The taste, inventiveness, and presentation are all there. Dish was wonderful. However, the ambiance and the service are where The Grocery really struggles and unfortunately it undoes a lot of the good will the kitchen is working so hard to build. The service was down right inattentive, whether from short staffing or otherwise I'm not sure, but we had to repeatedly flag down servers for drinks, water refills, silverware, etc. As for the room itself, there's not much too it.

I look forward to spring every year just for the soft shell crab platter. The martini with pickled tomatoes is really good. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Unique selections with fabulous service by Emily.
Highly recommend! Fried oysters with a deviled egg sauce and pickles were delightful! The seared scallops with watercress were delicious as well. I loved the sweet potato ricotta gnocchi! And the martini was well done.

Tasty; excellent vegan options.
We wanted a classy place to take out of town omnivore guests and we eat plant based, and they delivered. Unique drinks, well prepared beautifully presented food, vegan options - all good. We'll be back. Close to fun bars on upper king street too.

It was ok. The cocktails sounded good but they didn’t come together. The food was somewhat forgettable, and the place had a strange odor. We arrived on time and they told us to wait at the bar, but they never came back for us. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t memorable, for that price.

Very average food compared to what you can get in Charlesron. Food was very plain and very overpriced considering the quality.
