Food here is delicious. Portions run smaller than other restaurants, but I appreciate that; you don't feel obligated to over eat. We shared the beets, steak tartare, Bolognese and the tilefish.

As my wife and I are newcomers to the Charleston area having relocated from NY, we are making the rounds of highly rated restaurants. The grocery earned all 5 stars . I start by saying service provided by Haywood ( our waiter) was top notch in every way.
Appetizer meant to be shared were generous in portion and delicious. You can order as you go along which is a great way to dine. You can work you way through multiple small plates and call it quits or sample one or two before jumping into a larger entree. We opted for a roasted Red Snapper entree that was wonderful! Don’t miss dessert either. Well done

A+++ service that thinks of everything and is some of the kindest people I've ever met. Place has a great atmosphere. Also great mock-tails. However the food less good but not exceptional. Perhaps just my taste. Well presented and lots of care with great ingredients. Just not my jam but cannot fault them for my tastes.

Whoa! So I've been in Charleston far too long to have just tried this place for the first time. Everyone in our party was extremely happy with the choice of restaurant. One person in our group has a particular allergy and the server was extremely accommodating of the allergy (gluten free) and was also very knowledgeable about the menu and each items contents. If she was unsure she went straight to the kitchen and came back with an answer. She described everything well and you can tell she's passionate about her work. The restaurant is kept on the darker side for dinner but was a bit dim for me (my food looked better in a photo than it did in person because the colors were more vibrant in the photo with the flash on). Flavors are intricate and complex and each bite was exciting. I highly recommend this delicious restaurant. If the tuna crudo is on the menu, you must order it!

Everything is outstanding: the conception of the dish, the ingredients and the execution. The tomato "carpaccio" is a name that doesn't do it justice as the raw thinly sliced tomato was the bottom of the dish. There are pieces of fried pickled green tomatoes, roasted cherry tomatoes and corn relish perfectly composed on the plate, all fresh and local. The gnocchi was really wonderful too. Service is incomparable, anticipating the diner's next request, even at the bar. A very good selection of wine by the glass is available.

Everything we ordered in a party of 6 was amazing. Three of us shared the seafood pilau with an appetizer - a refreshing salad, the twice roasted potatoes, and the overnight green tomatoes - and it was amazing. A little light for 3 but doable. The green tomatoes were a dark horse favorite! The service was fantastic and our server Sam was very knowledgeable. He suggested each person get 2 items, which was about right. Good cocktails, wine, and beer. We also ordered one of each of the desserts, and the churros were my favorite. It was a lovely evening and I would definitely return!

This was the BEST meal we had in Charleston and one of the best of our lives. We ordered the cabbage gratinée, farm duck rice, squid ink tagliatelle, and the churros for dessert. Everything was amazing and reasonably priced for how good the food was. The service and the atmosphere were excellent. This is a must visit when in Charleston. We were tempted to go back for a second night in a row the food was that good.

Tried this restaurant on a whim. We loved the decor and ambiance that welcomed us. However, that felt like the only thing that welcomed us. Host and manager were kind and seated us quickly- in a mostly empty restaurant. Seemed like an more upscale restaurant with a unique food and drink menu. Food ranging from $15-60 per piece. The menu was slightly difficult to understand, not clear on serving size was it an appetizer or a full entree? We quickly decided something to drink and eat after or waiter hovering. Food came quickly and was pretty good. The fresh bread and butter was delicious. My sister ordered the Lamb Sugo . Her pasta was quite delicious. I had ordered the Baked Oysters- for $20 I received 5 oysters. They had an entirely too odd texture, felt like I was chewing sand, and it was slightly too salty for me. I was disappointed especially given the price. On top of the less than ideal meal, we begun to notice that the service we were receiving was significantly lower than the new patrons that were sat next to us. The server would look them in the eye- refused to make eye contact with me. The server provided a full run down of the menu, explaining how the menu worked along with recommendations- we receive none of this, merely was rushed to sit down order and get out. I asked for the brewery of the beer that I had ordered it- we waited for a response, received none. I can understand my sister and I are younger, however the price of the food is supposed to come with the experience as well. I felt as though we were profiled and were treated poorly ( in comparison). I would not come back to this restaurant and I would hope that if you chose to go you proper service.
