Amazing V-Day Dinner. We were in town visiting friends. Everywhere around Meeting and East Bay was booked solid. Luckily I was able to find this place a few days ago and they had a reservation. And I'm glad I did. The food was outstanding from start to finish. The hostesses were extremely nice. The red snapper was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. The tuna crudo was superb. It was a flavor explosion in my mouth. Our waitress was great also. I eat out ALOT. This is easily a 5 star eatery, but I had to take a star off because of the bar. One of my friends ordered a margarita which was very strong so she asked for some ginger ale to cut it. Our server brought her a ginger beer because the bar doesn't have ginger ale. WHAT??? How does any restaurant in SC not carry ginger ale. The entire table thought that was weird. Outside of that, I'd definitely go back and highly recommend.

I wanted to like this place , BUT we were put into a corner when several other tables were open in the next couple min of waiting and I asked. Overall food was ok. Probably not the best food to get when you come to visit Charleston ( if you are a foodie) . There are better options around. The service could also use some work, they were overall nice but need to have some training especially when the menu isn’t straight forward, maybe more direction to help the customer navigate.

from the time we walked in the door and were greeted by the hostesses all the way through to service and saying good night to everyone, we had an outstanding experience. all staff were friendly and engaging as well as knowledgeable about food and beverage. we enjoyed several of the vegetable dishes (beautiful root vegetables, very fitting fall flavors)... outstanding taste profiles, in addition to perfectly prepared triggerfish and the crispy pork milanese and dont for get the craft cocktails, we particularly liked the "spray tan". can't wait to come back again, thanks for the great time.

Wow! One of the best restaurants I've ever been to (and I've been to so many great ones around the world)! Everything was so special and cooked perfectly. Also the vibes and service was amazing. Literally 5 stars.

First time at The Grocery and it shall now make my Charleston recommendation list. Every bite was absolutely delicious! American Caviar, Octopus Salad, Italian Chopped Salad were perfect shared starters. The Sea Bass & Soft Shell Crab were wonderful as entrees. Finished our evening with the Lemon & Olive Oil Cake.

This place is hands down incredible.
They genuinely care about the diner’s experience. Jon, Scott and Megan are so welcoming. They’ll describe the drink and the dish. The excitement is just that much higher after you get a finessed description of the dish you ordered. And once you do, it’s out of this world. The textures, the perfect marriage between salt, fat, acid, sweetness, umaminess - incredible. Please go here and order whatever the staff recommends. It’s truly amazing.
Here’s a picture of peaches, tasso ham with goat cheese crema, basil with blistered shishito peppers and of course, green tomato carpaccio 😍😍

Absolutely incredible food. The roasted sweet potatoes and gnocchi were delicious! Great atmosphere and host/waitress team. First time here and definitely coming back!

Downtown Charleston is known for a variety of excellent restaurants. We were there on vacation with our daughter and therefore needed a family friendly restaurant that also had high-end fare. We came upon The Grocery, which had great reviews. We were not disappointed. The food was truly excellent and the restaurant was lovely. The service was also great. They did not have a children's menu which was the one downside, so we had to get a little bit creative with our daughter's food, but they were very accommodating and she ended up really liking what she had.

Everything from the appetizers we had to the wine selection to the cocktails to the main courses and the desserts was delicious. The only dessert that was slightly disappointing was the churros which were way too sugary and not quite the right consistency. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit there and plan to go back.

It had been 8 years since I visited the Grocery and we need to get there more. The food was amazing. They have something for everyone. Highly recommend.

Absolutely lovely and warming experience, I was taken care of by John and Scottie, I basically storm stuffed my stomach with all the goodies 🤤 I haven't had such good food in such a nice casual atmosphere for a while. Will definitely visit again! And recommend to any solo travelers since they are super welcoming and did not have an issue to get me a bar seat (which was nice, the amount of time I've been rejected by restaurants bc I'm a solo diner was frustrating) its good for all kinds of travelers and that's my kind of place! Thank you again for being such an awesome place for my first spot in Charleston!

P.S. thank you Kitchen staffs! The food was amazing, my hat off to you guys! 🙏 definitely stole my stomach and heart.
