Philter

Love this wonderful local place. The drinks and food are all excellent. They have the best chai tea latte. Instead of getting a PSL at starbucks this fall, get their seasonal autumn latte - it's about 100x better. ;) The ambience in the shop is nice and they have the most beautiful window displays year round.

Excellent coffee, I come in about once a week. Enjoy the dark roast and often purchase whole beans. Hands down superior to any chain store competition on quality of the product.

It was so lovely to get back inside Philter! I forgot how much I missed going in person. The coffee is still just as excellent as I remember. I can't recommend this local coffee shop enough!

Philter is great. Cozy atmosphere, good service, and in my opinion, it serves the best coffee in the area. Plus, their other drinks are tasty as well, such as their chai tea latte (both the iced and hot versions were very good).

Good ingredients used to make a limited menu in this coffee centric place. Primarily counter service with food delivered to your table . Service friendly. Limited seating (Aprox 30) can make large parties hard to seat during busy hours.

Don’t charge people for 2 shots when they only want one. Don’t punish customer because you can’t buy the right equipment and just pour one shot at a time. Usually good customer service, apparently the ones who don’t care about customers works Monday mornings. Very rude and made it seem like she was doing us a favor. I asked for the other shot to be given to me and not wasted, she never gave it to me.

I met a business colleague at Philter yesterday. Ordered a chicken salad sandwich and a vanilla latte. At the time there were about a dozen people sitting in the establishment and no lines of customers. My meal was delivered to me in about 10 minutes. I was half-way through my sandwich and went to ask about my latte. The girl said I was third in line—would be up soon. Really? Finally, as I finished my meal, the latte came. SO DISAPPOINTING. It’s ridiculous it took so long AND the latte was mediocre—the vanilla was obviously fake.

Coffee is very good, they use ceremony coffee as their roaster. I always order a breakfast sandwich or oatmeal and the service is very fast and the food is great. My favorite is the window seat with the plants. Great staff.

This place is fantastic. My only regret is that I don't live closer otherwise I would be a regular. The service upon walking in was super-friendly and when I posed a question about my particular favorite coffee (a flat white) the owner/barista extraordinaire was happy to chat.

Not only was he knowledgeable it was just a lovely exchange with someone who really cares about (and knows a lot about) coffee. All of this without the arrogance and attitude of a lot of local coffee shops I have tried.

The Cortado was amazing and something I'll be having again. I also had a croissant from the case and it was fantastic.

I came to Kennet Square for a dinner with friends at Talula's Table (AMAZING) and was thrilled to find Philter in the morning by chance - it's the reason I'll make the drive back to hang out for the day.

LOVED IT.
