Afogatos and milkshakes are tasty. Only wish they had syrup for iced coffees instead of regular sugar. It's impossible to mix sugar in iced drinks.

I have only been here a handful of times since I live in DE, but this is my favorite coffee shop in the area. I love the atmosphere and the seats by the window, I love their food, and I love their lattes. I brought my sister here last month. She is in the military and just spent the last 2 years travelling all over Europe and Africa. She is also the person who got me into coffee shops. The breakfast sandwich she had here was "the best she ever had". love this place!

Let me start off saying I was excited to try this place . The food looks good and they have good reviews. I walk in a fully vacanated person. they must be too woke to listen to the CDC saying people like me don't need mask and made me wear one. Even though almost every other restaurant in town would let you chose to wear mask if you wanted . Then I try and order food . They don't have any crosiant breakfast sandwiches and said it would take over 30 mins to make one . So I grab a muffin sandwich that is sitting under a heat lamp only to find out it is ice cold and the cheese isn't even melted. Their tea wasn't that good and my wife said Wawa has better coffee . Will not be back

I had a black cup of whatever the featured coffee was when I went. I believe it was called thesis or dissertation; something like that. Anyway, it was a delicious, flavorful cup of coffee. My girlfriend had a hot mocha, which I tried, and I liked it, despite being someone who usually drinks their coffee plain. She loved it! The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is cool. It was a nice escape from the cold and to refuel after a day of checking out all the neat shops Kennet Square has to offer.

Great coffee, lattes, and treats too! Service was spot on.

A very cute rustic and vintage coffee shop with all the options anybody could want. The coffee is definitely some of the best in the area. Philter is a great place to stop and relax, maybe do some work or read a book. The pastries are not amazing, but they are well worth a try.

Love this shop. I can't wait to come back. By far the best latte I have ever had.

I would like to preface this review by saying that I've been into specialty coffee for over 10 years and have been a barista since 2015.

Philter just gets it right. The space is laid out well enough for there to be plenty of seating without feeling cramped. They're able to do this while having a large amount of retail space for clothing, brewing gear, bean to bar chocolates, coffee beans, etc. The flow inside is really nice and you can tell that a lot of thought was put into it. There is enough space between where you order and where you pick up that you don't have a huge crowd at the register (unless there's a long line to order) and it just works well.

The espresso is served on a platter with sparkling water and a spoon. This is a nice touch as I love to be able to cleanse my palate before sipping. The espresso was really well balanced and sweet. They're weighing their doses in/out every time, which, if you aren't familiar with specialty coffee, basically means that they are making sure they can produce the same result every single time. This is a really important step that I wish more cafes would utilize as it cuts down on guesswork and waste.

They use a Bonavita Immersion Drip for pour-overs which I'm a big fan of. I find that they have an excellent trade off of a little less clarity in the cup in exchange for a more consistently great cup of coffee. Once it's dialed in, you can get the same cup of coffee time and time again.

The food I ended up getting was really good. They have a system where you get a number after you order and they bring the food to you. It's pretty simple but it makes the experience more enjoyable.

I really can't say much more about this place other than if you want a good cup of coffee in the Philly area, don't miss out on Philter. They do a really great job.
