Umpqua River Lighthouse Museum Giftshop and Coastal Visitors Center

One of the few lighthouses on the Oregon coast that can be toured. Tour includes climbing up into the Frenel lens. The lighthouse also has an interesting museum with exhibits about the local economy in the early years as well as an exhibit about the Coast Gaurd's involvement in keeping the coast safe for mariners. Had lunch at the gift shop, good food at a reasonable price to support a good cause.

This was a pretty cool pit stop on our coast trip! Loved the whale viewpoint; we maybe saw a whale but couldn't confirm that.

What a cool place! I was hoping to be able to take a lighthouse tour on our vacation. We stumbled upon this place and were happily surprised that they gave tours. It was short but worth it.

It was very cool getting to go into the lighthouse and learn about the history of the area. They have a cute gift shop with pretty good clam chowder. The museum is nice. It has bathrooms and displays the history of the area in a unique and entertaining way.

Nice lighthouse with some good, guided information. The museum part is not much to talk about. The guides are volunteers and so the experience can vary greatly depending on the guide. I had to wait over an hour to get my tour because the previous tour dawdled so much.
Note: I'm not sure what their tour cap is, but obviously not many people can visit the lighthouse at one time.

Not much access, beautiful spot. A must if following the Lighthouse Routes.
