Nice museum and gift shop. Lots of exhibits and high end gifts.

Very nice stop off if you've been on the road for a while. There is a whale jaw bone mounted nearby. The locals told us its from a whale that washed ashore near there years ago. Locals also sometimes drop seashells off near the overlook for visitors to take 1 home as a souvenir.
We weren't able to take a tour of the lighthouse this trip, but i would love too someday.

So nice to be able to go up into the lighthouse. You can't go all the way up, but the guide was great about letting us take lots of pictures.

A wonderful place to visit. You can get a guided tour of the lighthouse and learn a ton of things about how lighthouses work and how the men who ran them lived. There's a museum to tour, also. We'll worth the $8.00 charge. The lighthouse is the same as Heceta Head Lighthouse

The Umpqua River Lighthouse is located south of Reedsport Oregon, on the mouth of the Umpqua River in Winchester Bay, the lighthouse and museum is a great way to learn the history of the area. It is located next to the active barracks of the U.S. Coast Guard. There is no set schedule for tours, but the tour does take you up the steps to the top of the lighthouse.

This is a lighthouse that is working and has red light still there. Very rare! You can go all the way to the top and see how it works. It's amazing!

This place changed my life...when you go on the tour and listen to the tale of what the people went through to build this exquisite lighthouse...and then how they had to live to maintain it....you will be inspired to live a better more beautiful life and never complain about anything ever again!!!

The Umpqua River Lighthouse - Go to the Umpqua River Lighthouse Visitor Center just down the street from the lighthouse and overlook. The kitchen features freshly made scones and clam chowder made daily! Worth the calories!!! 🙃Good work chef!
The Umpqua River Lighthouse is located at Winchester Bay where the Umpqua River empties into the Pacific Ocean. First Order Fresnel lens was handcrafted in France and has 616 glass red and clear prisms handcrafted in France. This lighthouse was constructed in 1890 after the first one built in 1857, next to the river mouth, was destroyed in a storm.
