This is very small and quaint coffee shop that happens to make some breakfast items as well. The food portion isn't on a menu as it changes all the time. They locally source and today was waffle Wednesday. I don't order waffles often, but it seemed like the way to go since it was waffle Wednesday. I'm very glad I did as it was very good. Slightly crisp and fluffy with confectionery sugar and strawberries on top. I also ordered a cold brew which was very good. The staff was super friendly and helpful when I was trying to figure out what I was going to eat. They have some local sticker art and jewelry that you can purchase along with other items as well. It's very cozy and welcoming here and would definitely consider stopping by again...perhaps on a different day that allows for another random breakfast surprise

Visiting the town of Spruce Pine to see the fall foliage and came across this wonderful cafe. I had an amazing homemade sesame bagel with bacon, chipotle and egg. Should’ve taken a photo but it went in my belly very quickly ☺️. Cappuccino was excellent and the The space was perfect to relax and enjoy and meal or cup a Jo! Highly recommend!

My job takes me through Spruce Pine several times a month and I'll gladly admit:, I plan my drive to allow extra time to stop at Fox and the Fig. Delicious and healthy salads, homemade soups, organic coffee and the best bagels I've ever had (try the English muffin toast too!)..... Not to mention a friendly staff and warm welcoming location make this place a true gem in the North Carolina Mountains!

Great little spot for craft coffee and tea, that looks like a craft coffee place out of Charlotte, NC. The staff was great, friendly and courteous. I would go here every day if I lived in this city.

Great coffee or expresso, very friendly staff, a little expensive though for coffee but very cool place with comfy seats.

Enter a cabin-like atmosphere, the result of wood panels and rustic furniture. Folksie music reminds you that Spruce Pine is nestled within the Carolina mountains, where black bear, mountain lions, and white tail roam the forests.

I had a nutty Cafe Americano and was well pleased; it's the best I've had in several months. A friend wanted me to try two oatmeal cookies: the dark chocolate and the cranberry orange. They were both delicious, though I found the subtly sweet dark chocolate oatmeal much more pleasing to my palate.

I had a brief chat with the proprietor and found that, aside from having local pieces of art for sale, he tried to utilize local produce as often as possible, mostly from his own local garden and from local contacts. As I get ready to leave, the savory smell of the freshly baked quiche makes my mouth water. Definitely next time.

Love this place! My husband and I visit the spruce pine area a couple times a year but this was the first time we stopped at Fox and Fig. Excellent coffee and pastries. (Their Matcha Latte was among the best I've ever had. My husband loves their cappuccino.) The owner, Aaron, is very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The cafe itself has ample seating and is tastefully designed and decorated. Once we went the first time, we went every morning thereafter!

Organic ingredients for all in house made bagels, cookies, coffee's, teas, biscuits & gravy, quiches, sandwiches and more. We loved the mixed green berry salad, ham sandwich, green matcha lemonade and fresh hot coffee. Friendly service also.
