Fox and the Fig

My first visit was less than stellar, but I know everyone has bad days. I returned to the Fox and Fig and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Excellent bagels. The coffee was fresh and robust.

Love! The special and matcha latte were Devine. This place is very comfortable with great energy. With local creations you can purchase to support the artists. :-)

I really like this place, though I don't get there enough. I'ts a cozy home-town place. They bake all their pastries in-house, and make excellent coffees in all the styles. Many comfortable over-stuffed chairs and sofas where you can kill time. Never very crowded. Staff very friendly. Only wish they could make some paninis or something so I could go for lunch. Occasionally have live music in the evenings.

This past spring I stopped in for a latte and a snack while I waited to meet someone in town. The latte was terrific and the raspberry crumble bar I tried was outstanding! I was very impressed and have visited several times since.

We have a vacation rental in town and always make a point of recommending local favorites where we know - without a shadow of a doubt - the service, the food . . . everything will be outstanding. Since my first visit I make a point to tell everyone about The Fox and The Fig! It never fails to make a great impression! The quaint little shop has a very approachable atmosphere, delicious handmade treats and savories, and the owners and employees are very nice!

This place is absolutely terrific. They carry great coffee, and also have a great knowledge of how it should be prepared! And, wow.... The food! The gravy with my biscuits this morning *might* be better than my mamaw's, and I feel a little sinful saying that. So good!

Servers and cook were refusing to wear masks. Most of the patrons inside were also just sitting around without masks on. They forgot half my order and it took forever to get two biscuits and a muffin.if it were not during a pandemic, the place would be cute and a little bit quirky. But we'll drive a little bit further to go to better and safer coffee shop.

Been here several times and I gotta tell you...by far the best within an hour drive of Spruce Pine.
Bagels are absolutely incredible.
English Muffin toast with Butter and jam made me shout with joy.
Granola is homemade, fresh, and delicious.
Their brunch items are to die for.

Very cozy & chic coffee house. Great handmade breakfast. Superior coffees. Plus a nice selection of local arts & crafts available for purchase. Really amazing owners & staff. Best way to wake up in Spruce Pine. Free wi/fi.

Best coffee I have had in a long time. Artsy atmosphere, very cozy and welcoming. The owners are great and very knowledgeable about their craft. Bagels are homemade and amazing!!

Fantastic coffee and coffee drinks. These guys are serious about their methodology. The espressos they pull are smooth and creamy, no bitterness. They use Counter Culture beans from Raleigh. Their brewing skills are matched by their baking skills. Pretty much anything under the glass at the counter is legit, I'm partial to the ginger molasses cookies. They will also make the hell out of a cake if you preorder. My girlfriend got me some kind of chocolate cake for my birthday from them and it was absolutely OUTRAGEOUS! There was fresh rosemary in the icing. Dude, it was so good!
I would absolutely recommend stopping by there if you like super high quality coffee and/or banging baked stuff.
