The Third Place Coffee Shop

Cushy chairs, reliably good eats, and playful monthly drink specials make it an easy neighborhood spot where you’ll find locals hunkered down on laptops, catching up over smoothies, or simply savoring a warm muffin out on the patio. Add in eclectic art (yes, that’s a giant dino skeleton on the back wall) and vintage decor. Great staff, food, drinks, and other items for sale. Small parking lot a little past the store. Only open until noon.

Want to feel like a TRUE Raleigh local? Grab a coffee and some fresh, hot breakfast at Third Place! This is hands down some of the best breakfast I've ever had at a coffee shop. Everything is always so fresh and never fails to hit the spot when I start my day. One thing I especially love about this place is how there are several healthy AND delicious food options. You can both see and taste the high quality ingredients that go into each item!

Also, lets talk about the ambience - the cafe is very inviting and cozy! There's some really neat, eclectic art hanging on the walls, so if you're into the arts this is definitely the spot for you! And even if not, it is still a very welcoming atmosphere for all. Whether you're on a date, out with the family and kids, or just feeling a solo outing you'll feel right at home here!

What is "The Third Place"? The third place is a not a physical location, it's not a venue. So what is it? The third place is a feeling, a sense of community and togetherness. The Third Place Coffee Shop is the embodiment of what a third place is. I frequent many coffee shops that aren't anywhere close to what a third place should be. As I looked around almost everyone was engaged in a conversation and enjoying the fellowship that this coffee house facilitates. I was one of only 2 weirdos sitting by themselves on their computer. haha

Their baked goods and other food items looked delicious!

Side note: Their nitro cold brew is actually pretty good. (I don't generally like the nitro brew)

I walked into this this coffee shop for the first time ever today and just as I was about to order a coffee when i saw a ROACH sitting on top of a danish behind the glass! Yes, a roach! It was the craziest thing I have ever seen in my entire life, that we would survive COVID, two full years of quarantining and wearing masks only for some coffee shop to want to kill us with their unhygienic food practices is disgraceful! Completely unacceptable! I took a picture, I wish I knew how to post it on here. Never in my life have I ever, experience this in an eating establishment! Visit at your OWN RISK! Really google needs to give people the option to put NO STARS and leave a review!

True local coffee stop. This place is easily passed by, but it's worth turning around. The atmosphere is balanced with a relaxing, yet energizing, vibe. Staff are super nice and great! I'll be back again for a study session or just to hang out, soon!

Quite an eclectic spot. It feels like walking into 'Central Perk' from Friends in the 90s. (Which isn't necessarily a bad thing! ;) ) Great location right by Five Points. Wall is lined with tables and power supplies for folks to work remote.
The music is at a comfortable level (not loud, thank you!) making it easy to work or have a conversation.
I had a bagel and coffee and both were fine.

The staff is SO friendly here. It was my first time and I spilled my coffee all over me and they quickly came over to clean and got me a new one no questions asked. The nitro iced coffee is SO good! They know what they’re doing here, we will be back :-)

Consistently terrific coffee. Wonderful friendly, sometimes hilarious, staff.
