Great place to relax and sip a cup of coffee. Place to visit if you are in downtown Raleigh.

This place is too cool. Right in downtown Raleigh, this is one of my favorite places to study. The only downside is that a lot of other people love it too, so don't go at busy times so that you can get a table. The people are also super nice there. It's honestly such a cool looking place, just go check it out.

Small but beautiful place in the heart of downtown Raleigh. My quad Americano was perfect. It's small, and maybe not the best spot for study and quiet. But a great spot for a coffee meeting.

I've enjoyed the visits I've had here. The place is very "zen."
As for the drinks, I've had a Latte and a Cold Brew.
Latte was creamy and good as is. I modified it a bit to my taste but it was well made.
The Cold Brew was very good. I could drink it black if I was in the mood. I liked how it turned out though with my modifications.
I'm very excited to go back and try out the rest of the menu.

Great drinks and desserts. I usually get their matcha latte. Haven't tried their savory foods yet but I definitely will. The store has such cute merchandise to look through as you wait for your order. Love coming here every time.

I’ve been here multiple times and gotten pretty decent oat milk lattes.
I did have a bad experience about two months ago when I ordered an iced oat milk cappuccino. The barista explained that oat milk wouldn’t foam so she would have to do a latte. I said that was fine.
Couple of minutes later I’m drinking my iced oat milk latte at a rapid rate because I had just done a long walk on a hot day. I thought it tasted odd, but I was really thirsty. About halfway through the drink my face started to flush and my throat swelled up. I checked with the barista and she told me I had never requested oat milk. I am very lactose intolerant so always make it very clear that I need oat milk or some other dairy alternative.
She refunded me, but now I unfortunately won’t be going back because of that happening.
TLDR: They make good coffee. I had one bad experience with a barista that messed up my order. Allergic reaction ruins weekend.

Today I came in and ordered the pork belly rice bowl, a hojicha latte, a chocolate mochi doughnut; and I got the yuzu sparkling water and the Taiwan beer. They run out of things all the time, you never know when you will go and they won’t have what you want. Maybe you could call in advance.
The rice bowl was pretty bad. There was so much rice, and only 5 pieces of pork, over cooked/flavorless quail eggs, and more fat than meat. I could tell they tried to balance everything with pickled carrots but it wasn’t worth $12 to throw away over half of the bowl which was pretty much just rice and fat.
The latte was good, besides being on the cold side.
The doughnut was nice. It was made to order, warm, fluffy, chewy; no problems there.
Oh yeah and they’re out of single sake shots right now so make sure to call in before your visit.

More than just another coffee shop: the vibe had me from the beginning, the staff is kind, the coffee is incredible. The owner was there and talked to everyone which was insanely cool. Heirloom pays such close attention to every detail and delivers a one of a kind experience. I cannot wait to go back!
UPDATE: I came back after 1 year and it’s not the same. Waited over 25 minutes for my coffee when there were only 2 people ahead of me. 1 lady working by herself while all the tables were full and all the plants were dead/dying.

The setting is lovely and so are the staff. The coffee is delicious BUT the cost is not justifiable - counter culture espresso + oat milk set me back $7! I don’t think I’ve ever been charged that much anywhere in the U.S. and I’m a big coffee aficionado (and frequent high end coffee places that serve counter culture). I would recommend the owners reconsider their coffee pricing.
