Take away afternoon tea. It was delightful! Many interesting combinations - the feta chocolate scone was a favorite. Would recommend!

I can't wait to come back! Everything was perfect. Received some of the best - THE best - service I've ever received from Stephanie who was knowledgeable, thorough, and attentive. The tea was served to us properly brewed and hot. We had such a good time and never felt rushed even though we just purchased a pot of tea to share and no food. We left over 20 minutes past their closing time and were totally unaware! In addition to the beauty of the grounds and the decor, everything was impeccably clean: everyone was wearing a mask properly and tables were distanced and sanitized after use. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique and safe experience in Winston-Salem.

This is absolutely phenominal place to stop by for brunch or lunch. There is outdoor, porch, and indoor seating.
There is an excellent selection of different teas ranging from black, herbal, asian, and green teas.
The servers are extremely friendly and the atmosphere is wonderful. Everything down to the plates and cups are beautiful.
The food itself is also fantastic. I had the monte cristo as part of their French Breakfast and it was exceptional.

I made a reservation a month ago for today for 2 Full Tea Service and it was really a wonderful experience. ❤. From the minute I arrived it was just an amazing feeling. Parking was easy. They have their own parking space next to the house. The vibe and the environment was so warmth, welcoming and inviting. We chose next to the window. And we pretty much there for 2 almost 3 hours. It is just so pleasant. We also get the chance to tour the whole house which is a 9 bedrooms bed and breakfast. They also have a function room that can accomodate approx. 60 people. What a beautiful historic mansion. Lots and lots of charm.Tea service was excellent, we definitely be back with some friends and enjoy some more great tea...we hope you guys be around for many many more years to come and look forward for more coming events at The Schaffner House.

The cafe is to the left of and behind the stairs leading from the main street (we first tried the doors directly at the bottom of the stairs). The outside of the cafe is a charming place to stage a few photos.
The lattes were good (not too weak), and they had a variety of cakes (including gluten free). My friend got the peach chocolate cake, which had an interesting flavor that paired well with the coffee. The berry tart cake was a bit lighter and good as well.
We visited at 5pm (an hour before closing), and there were just a few others there.
I definitely recommend Flour Box as a coffee break between visiting shops on the main street.

I had such a wonderful dining experience at The Flour Box Tea Room, back in June. I made reservations in advance for a full tea service for two. When arrived there were quite a few people but we were still able to get a parking space in the designated lot. We were seated right away and not long after our server arrived. She had such a genuinely welcoming, warm, and friendly demeanor.
Since we had never had a full tea service before she was incredibly patient while we made our drink choices and helpful answering a few questions that we had. We did not have hot tea, and opted for iced beverages.
I had the green sunburst tea that came with syrup for sweetening so you add as little or as much as you'd like. My boyfriend had the rose lemonade, which I had a couple sips of. Without trying to sound like I'm embellishing here, it was by far one of the most magical and unique flavors I have ever tried. Our server brought out the tiered plates for the tea service and gave us a quick but informative rundown on what everything was.
The bottom tier was a chicken salad on a croissant, egg salad on toast with chilled asparagus, and a phyllo cup with cheese. All were delicious but the egg salad was hands down my favorite. It was light and almost had a slight whipped/fluffy texture, and the chilled asparagus was a perfect accompaniment. I loved the phyllo cup too, it was crunchy on the outside with perfectly warm and delicious cheese inside.
We had the freshly baked scones next, that came with jam and clotted cream. The server had previously explained to us that the clotted cream is essentially like butter, so we learned something new! We had both had one sweet and savory scone. They had just a bit of a crunch on the outside and were soft on the inside.
The final tier was sweet items! Lemon mousse with raspberry, a mini tart, and a palmier. The mousse was delicious and was probably my favorite of the three. I also enjoyed the very light but crispy texture of the palmier.
All of the food we had was absolutely delicious. I would love to get my hands on some of that egg salad though! Crossing my fingers that maybe it will be sold it separately someday to take home. I had some initial skepticism coming in that I would be full after the tea service, since we were coming in at lunch time. But that was actually quite a bit of food, more than enough!
The atmosphere contributed a lot to the wonderful experience as well! Our server was outstanding and really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I really can't wait to return, have the tea service again, and try some of the regular menu items.

Just like did it in the old days. Lots of choices for tea, can say for sure the earl gray and the raspberry teas are really good. Their flatbread was a nice light lunch. The atmosphere is really nice, quiet and intimate.

We were looking for a special place to celebrate our birthdays and could not have found a better place. The food was delicious and they were able to satisfy a vegetarian as well. The tea was lovely and the atmosphere divine. I will be going back as much as possible.

A wonderful place to celebrate Valentine’s Day with my love! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was romantic, and the service was spot on. Thank you!!!!

The food and tea were excellent. The loss of star is because we came during a rush and had a reservation, the hostess at first denied that we were the people we were because she was so flustered. She then showed us to our table by speed walking while talking to another server and left us without another word in front of an empty table that we had to assume was ours. Disappointed in that treatment. I understand it was busy but at least take the time to say "this is your table" so people aren't standing in the middle of the hall awkwardly trying to figure out what's going on.
Afterwards our server was amazing. So kind and understanding and very patient. She redeemed the whole experience.
I do want to go again, I just hope the hostess is more polite next time.
