Great spot for tea service (tiered plates with yummy sandwiches and the BEST scones I have ever had). Perfect lunch spot as well. .I like the tomato soup, the Parisienne sandwich (warm butter croissant, brie, apple slices and fig jam) and amazing HUGE salads. Clean. Great service.

The server looked friendly but she was unwilling to be friendly. She wouldn't explain anything on the menu, she was rarely around, and charged us incorrectly. Overall she had poor customer service skills. The tea was brewed at the wrong temperature and the left in tea bag broke. The tea was hard to drink which is saying a lot since I love drinking tea. The scone was dry and their clotted cream tasted more like softened butter with a pinch of sugar.

We had a lovely time celebrating my mother & my birthdays. Not sure it was worth $26/person (after 18% gratitude for a group) Odd that the only seating was out on the patio that day however the house is were all the charm is. I would give it another try next time I'm in Winston Salem.

They tried to seat us on the built on sun porch instead of inside the house, it was no where near as nice as sitting in the house. They also sat as directly across from a man and his child not even 6 feet from us in this deadly quiet sun room, where me and my friend could not even whisper to each other without being heard. I asked to move and they let us go inside where we could have an adult conversation. Not sure why they insist on seating people in the sunroom when you clearly reserved a spot inside the beautiful house. The man we had been seated next to said they refused to move him prior to me asking. The tea and food were just ok.

Went with my bridesmaids for high tea as one of our bachelorette events. It was amazing!

We were so happy to work with the Flour Box team for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary party. Everything was top-notch, from nice and professional communication to kind service to delicious food. I highly recommend them for such an event!

The food is quality, and so is the service but a bit overpriced for the small, petite amounts given. Scones are petite, not a full one, salads are half a cup sized, etc.. I have been to many tea houses all around the world and here, and it just needs a bit consideration of the value of what your giving...

My husband and I went to the Flour Box Tea Room for lunch and we were very pleased with our experience. The Tomato Bisque soup was out of this world and the Blackberry Raspberry tea was so good I brought a box home with me. We highly recommend this spot.

Quite a respite within an oasis. Life slows down when you enter Old Salem, but it’s even more still below the street level shop where the Flour Box is located. When I have time, I savor a pot of tea. Late on a weekday afternoon, I grab a cappuccino and sit in the late winter sunlight. I understand the tea service is excellent, but I’ve been satisfied just sitting and sipping. The staff is most accommodating, even when I barge in just as they’re closing.

Don't expect any service per se, before 11:00 a.m.. Although the dining room is open for self service, pre packaged pastries, the limited staff was rude ignored us when we came in, then treated us like we were trespassing idiots, because we didn't have foreknowledge of tea service beginning at 11:00 a.m. instead of 9:30, when we got there. If it's a snobbery type tea service you're looking for, this is the place. If you wanna warm welcoming atmosphere you might look someplace else. If you want a Salad and tea, be for prepared to pay upwards of $15. You'd be better off, halfway down the block at the Tavern restaurant.
