Nice cozy cafe to relax or do some work. The staff is great, and I love that they have oat milk!

Definitely not a third wave coffee shop, but has lots of flavors and some food. The best thing here is that everyone is welcome. It is LGBT owned and operated. It is definitely a community spot used for meetings and it's excellent for getting work done. Lots of teas a well.

Could not love this place more. 10/10 have to visit while in Rochester especially if you're into home grown tea, good espresso and better service. Music is always amazing, lots of events and the best environment for all people.

I've been going here for over a decade and I recommend this place to every new LGBT/Queer person, coffee is generous and delicious, the space is comfortable with local artists on the wall, there's poetry nights, community meetings, it's a great first date destination.

Kind of chilling atmosphere with people from all the spectrum. Great to have coffee and chat with your friends.

Delicious coffee, and a great atmosphere! Very open and welcoming to everyone! The coffee cake muffin is fantastic! They have a wide range of beverages and baked goods, would definitely recommend checking it out!

A truly welcoming, comfortable and great coffee place. Wide selection of hot & cold coffee and tea drinks along with bakery and breakfast/lunch offerings. Located in two turn of the century storefronts, it is roomy and comfortable. A pulse is the local art displayed on the walls along with Equal Grounds and LGBTQ merchandise. Equal Grounds has been a staple in the South Wedge neighborhood for many years which is a testament to it's wonderful coffee, food and service as well as the great atmosphere.

Cozy eclectic coffee shop that's iconic in the neighborhood and welcoming to all. Friendly service, plenty of seating, table top games, and bakery/food options- this is an excellent place to hang out with your friends for the afternoon and have deep conversations. Equal grounds honors and celebrates the diversity and wonderful weirdness of the South Wedge.

Equal Grounds is a great place to gather with friends or hang out and study. The clientele is very diverse and the staff is always friendly. I can't speak to the quality of their coffee, but they have a good selection of loose leaf teas (both caffeinated and herbal). Be sure to check out their website calendar as they also frequently hold game nights and host events.
