Excellent location and very friendly owners. We stayed in the Franconia Room which was very nice and comfortable. It has a walk out patio to the pool area.

Only downfalls were the sink is in an awkward area and no mini fridge.

Wonderful old inn right near the river. Our room was beautiful, with a spa tub and 3 sided fire place. Breakfast featured some of the best bacon I've ever had. Enjoyed the snow and ice, we'll have to go back when its warm too!

As fellow Bed & Breakfast owners, we realize how hard it is to accommodate every guest. Giving every individual personal attention can get overwhelming. But at the end of the day, knowing they felt both taken care of and the most comfortable during every minute of their stay makes working hard worth so much. We commend both John and Mary on their dedication and efforts put forth to keeping the Inn at Ellis River a both delightful and illustrious place to stay. They were more than thoughtful. They were kind, considerate, friendly, hospitable, and overall great company. The atmosphere is nothing short of inviting. Help yourself to coffee and tea 24/7. Clean linens brought to your door. The staff respects your privacy in the event that they just missed you leaving the Inn or that you were to put out a 'Do Not Disturb' sign. Housekeeping will leave fresh linens right outside of the door for you to help yourself. Water, as well as sweets are left, in room, for when you check in. We thought some of the room names were both neat and fitting to the area. Our room 'Diana's Bath' was homey, the sheets were incredibly soft, as well as the room itself was conveniently located next to the staircase. You can make your way down to the lobby, dining area, sitting room, bar area, and more at ease. Needless to say the Inn at Ellis River is a place we will never forget, but necessary to mention both John and Mary contributed to the impression it left on our hearts. We came with just roots, and left knowing a friendship had blossomed before our eyes.

Stay here was an excellent experience. Breakfast was incredible and the staff was very welcoming. We enjoyed the pool table in the bar and the jacuzzi and fireplace in our room. The location is great. Plenty to do and places to eat in the area. Highly recommended.

Always a great, relaxing stay. John, Mary, and the rest of the staff are so friendly. Breakfast was great, attentive service, snd John's cooking was tasty every day. The pub/game room is a great spot to wind down at the end of the day. The silver cascade (?) room was nice, the bed comfortable, with a nice view of the river.

Stayed during the 21st annual cookie tour. Best inn on the tour. We were treated like royalty. Breakfast was awesome and very filling. John, Mary and Christine are fantastic hosts. Would definitely stay here again.

Foliage season in the White Mountains is like nothing else. Our stay at the Inn at Ellis River was icing on the cake. Our room was quaint and clean with lovely attention to detail. We had stayed here 11 years ago and even though ownership had changed, we were greeted with a personalized "Welcome Back" card and chocolates in our room.

The location is ideal - close to Jackson center without the crazy traffic of North Conway... right in the heart of the White Mountains with easy access to many of the area's great hiking trails and attractions. Great dining options nearby, and the Inn had menus available for both Jackson restaurants as well as North Conway restaurants. Of course, John & Mary were always available to offer suggestions and dining tips as well.

Breakfast was outstanding. Fresh fruit, decadent bakery, homemade granola, and juices available to start...with both a sweet and savory hot dish offered each day. As other reviewers have noted, the bacon is amazing. Coffee/Tea are available all day, and sweet treats are available each afternoon.

We enjoyed the bar/gameroom - a great place to relax by the fire and enjoy a drink before dinner. We loved the opportunity to talk to John & Mary in the bar and hear their story of becoming Innkeepers. The passion for their business is evident and we truly loved getting to know them.

The entire staff was awesome. Special shout out to Christine who makes every guest feel like a friend. Amazing team.

No need to look anywhere else. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I got married here on. 10/10/2020. The owners and the staff were simply amazing. From the initial planning to the changes and challenges that 2020 threw at us, they worked with us through it all. The breakfast is amazing and the location can't be beat. We will be coming back every year for our anniversary and can't thank you enough for making our wedding day amazing. If they had more than 5 stars, you'd get them all.

Breakfast was fantastic. Very flavorful, perfect portion, served warm and with a smile. Wait staff were very pleasant and attentive. Overall, great time. Would have provided 5 stars but room was adjacent to 3rd floor furnace unit.....a bit noisy when system kicked in during the night. Time to upgrade the mattress.
