Mad River Coffee House

Heading up to NH for a fun family trip and as this place had strong reviews wanted to give it a try! Lets say we started the trip off on the wrong foot as these people in this coffee shop are not friendly and service was sub par. Had a few food items and coffee and completely disagree with the reviews!!!! Please don't be rude to customers for no reason.

Really nice, I had an Asiago Bagel with sun-dried tomato cream cheese and I added red onion and tomato.My husband had the special. We loved it. Very reasonable and the bagel had tons of crispy cheese. The coffee was fresh and hot. They brought it to us on the deck.

Wow! What a great little place. The coffee is amazing. The breakfast was delicious. Even my two very picky children loved it (that’s really saying something!!). We will definitely be stopping here next time we are going this way.

By far best chai AND best molasses cookie I've ever had. We will absolutely be returning.

Food - The bagel egg sandwich, jalapeno popper grilled sandwich, clam chowder and the cafe latte were just perfect. And it's all made in-house!

Ambiance - Love the decor. Eclectic mix of chairs, tables and couches. There are so many cool and quirky posters and art displays in the restaurant. You can even sit down and play a game or two from their collection.

Service - Quick, and with a smile!

Great baked goods, the French onion soup is amazing. The coffee is quite delicious and they roast the beans there, truly making this a coffee house. No fuss or frills with the coffee and “liquid sugar” is available for iced coffee. Best to know what you want before you get in line - it’s frequented by us locals and first responders alike and we like to order and either grab a seat or go. Please respect that!

Its a very good food option on the way to white mountain. They have a good collection of coffee and very good lunch and dinner options

Staff seemed friendly enough, but for a coffee roaster I was expecting a lot more. All of the roasts I tried were not great. Also don't expect to drink it black right away as the hot coffees are kept far too hot.

Stopped for a late lunch. Coffee was good. The spicy grill cheese sandwich special was also a very pleasant suprise.

Love it here. Best breakfast sandwiches and right off the highway. Great ambience. Best place to stop before a hike.
