Mad River Coffee House

Mad River is a New England farmland vibe. The coffee is what you would expect: over-roasted beans (even their med-light roast was past second crack!) that have the stench of char on them. Production issues too: non-uniform roast yields beans of different colors, so either roaster needs repair or process needs adjustment. Despite all this, they have roast dates on the bag. Far from specialty coffee, but a step up from Dunkin’.

Why 4 stars? The spot is fun, board games and books everywhere. We were going camping so my partner and I went there to do work on a Friday on the way up. WiFi sucked but I won’t hold it against them. Peeps were friendly enough and food was decent.

They have amazing coffee...but you have to try their muffins and who knew avocado brownies would be so good. 😋 The line can be long on the weekends but during the week we were in and out super quick.

Delilah steak and cheese sub, very friendly staff and the kids loved their grilled cheeses!

Loved this place. Great iced coffee (coffee ice cubes were great too) and employees were so sweet. Bagel was good too.

Nice coffee shop with some really comfortable couches to relax on.
For the ice coffee, they provide coffee ice cubes, so it doesn't get watered down if you don't finish it right away.

Amazing raspberry mocha! Great pasteries. Perfect spot for pre-hike fuel up! Was very busy during leaf peeping season.

Always love stopping in here for a great coffee after a long day of hiking. The coffee is always fantastic, and love that they use frozen coffee cubes instead of ice cubes in their coffee! Staff is always warm and welcoming and we always look forward to Mad River. We haven’t tried any of the food but it looks delicious!

We stopped on our way back from the mountains and I couldn't believe our luck! On a whim I looked up cafes on route to our home and this popped. I got iced coffee with coffee iced cubes, a raspberry iced tea, and an avocado brownie. I couldn't believe how great their prices were for everything and I loved everything. My fiance was a fan of the iced tea and I couldn't bieve how strong the ice cube coffee made my iced coffee. If I'm ever in the area again I'm stopping here!

Such a great spot. Loved it here and one of the best breakfast sandwiches ever!
