It was our first time visiting Jacks on our many trips to Reno. We had a party of 9 and the wait staff was very nice and accommodating. Plus the food was great. We will definitely be back.

We came here from New Jersey and I have to say, this place serves excellent breakfast. I ordered the home style breakfast with biscuits and gravy. The biscuits are moist and probably one of the best biscuits I've had in a long time. Coffee is smooth. Not bold but not bland.

This was our first time eating here. First the positives. We were greeted quickly, and sat quickly. It was a Sunday morning so we expected a wait but there wasn't one. That was great. Our table had crumbs all over one bench seat,, and the condiment bottles looked very dirty. We ordered drinks and they came quickly but one if the glasses was very dirty so I sent it back. My child's chocolate milk was very short on the chocolate you could barely tell there was any in it.
Our waitress was very nice and took our order and our food came out very fast. My husband ordered the country fried steak, it was very tough and had an odd flavor.
The restaurant is very big, but they sat everyone very closely. There were no barriers or plexiglass between booths so the people next to you were literally inches from your face. There were lots of Flys buzzing around and the restaurant was visibly dirty, lots of big cobwebs and dust.
When we were ready to leave I asked for a to go container to take the bacon home to our pups. When it came it had specks of brown dirt inside and Yellow grime inside one corner. I told the waitress and said we didn't need another and I left the bacon.
Overall service was good. The food was below mediocre.

Jack's is exactly what you expect from a diner. It has all the classic breakfast options and that classic diner feel.
If you go in expecting that finer experience you will have an enjoyable experience. If you are looking for a next level brunch setting this not it and I'm glad Jack's doesn't try to be that.
Service is great and the food is good!

Actually I would rate Jack's Cafe a 3.5 star. The food is darn good diner fare. Portions are large and has always been well made. There is a Mexican flair and man is some of the dishes are fantastic.
Service is good. Never had to ask more than once for anything. The servers are prompt and curtious.
The only downside is that the place is a little old and a bit run down. Not dirty just older. A new paint job and carpet would make this place almost perfect.

I've been to Jack's cafe on Victorian Ave three times in the last two months. They have a sign on the door when you walk in that has the Govenor's mandate about wearing face coverings. Yet the manager, a female server and the two cooks are not wearing any face coverings. When two cooks are breathing on people's food while cooking doesn't make me feel very comfortable. I have called the health dept three times and it doesn't seem like they are doing anything about it. The last time I went in I turned around and left telling a waitress I wasn't going to eat there or their other cafe on Wells Ave if they are not going to follow the Govenor's rules!!! Therefore, I give them one star and vow not to visit that establishment ever again!!
