Lovely atmosphere, the owner was so personable and welcoming! Got a great cup of Joe too.

The food was good. Takes a bit to come out but I think it was worth the wait. The coffee felt a little off (dare I say a bit toooo roasted)but maybe it was just an off day? Anyway, they have teas as well. The place ended up getting a line and
Someone from the kitchen came out and said that if they expected food to be ready "fast" then they can just leave and go to McDonald's. I thought that was a little odd, but it did make me laugh. But the place does have a "like it or leave it" vibe which kind of meshes well with the small mountain town vibe it has. It did take us a bit to get our food (small kitchen) and when it came out, they kept taking it to different tables. Since the tables were full when we got there, we grabbed seats on the couch. But I eventually heard my name and I got up to grab the plates. So just be patient when you go as it seems they are understaffed for the amount of customers they get.
Heard a worker tell someone that Montana people dont like CA people so I sat there, as a Californian, wondering if this was real life
Hahaha.
Will I be returning?
Yeah, probably.
Should you try it?
Yes. But if you're from CA, keep it on the dl.

Oh, and get the fluffy egg sandwich!

We came here for breakfast. The food was good and we were able to sit outside with our dog. Had a delicious smoothie too. Took longer to get our food then they predicted so plan on enjoying your time. This is not a place that rushes to get you out.

Real neat little coffee shop with an amazingly friendly and eccentric owner James. The food and drinks were to die for, the atmosphere cozy, and home to an eclectic collection of dining wear and cutlery anyone can and should appreciate. Will be returning as soon as possible!

From the drinks to the food, True North is the best cafe I’ve been to in all of the places I’ve been. James has made it a one-of-a-kind place from his personality to the books on the wall that made me feel at home. (And the colones are to die for, but upside down logo is my fav). Even though our age gap, you made it really easy to find you a nice guy. You have my thanks for the hospitality during my time here in Montana.

Absolutely Awesome!!!
I travel a ton and love my small independent coffee shops especially ones that serve a good fresh Brecky Sando and this one ranks at the top on my travels around the Rockies between quality of service, coffee and food! The Fresh house made buns for the big fluff was incredible and fluffy and the bacon was awesome & loaded w flavor!! My latte was perfect and my ladies Landon fog was off the hook flavorful!! Cant wait to come back!

Quality service, coffee + treats, and atmosphere. Truly a gem in the beautiful city of Livingston. James (the owner) is a one of a kind soul and his heart is gold! If you have the time to sit down and enjoy the setting with a great cup of coffee, this is the place to do it.

James the owner is so warm and welcoming, and our food was fabulous! Also, James introduced us to the Mountain Cloud cake which is a fabulous spiced cake they warm in some browned butter and drizzle with espresso. Amazing!
