Sweet Em’s Coffee & Ice Cream

Sweet Em's is sometimes available for delivery via postmates, but even if it isn't you should totally go. Conveniently located in Dogtown super close to Forest Park it is a great place to grab some ice cream, coffee, a drowning brownie sundae, affogato, or dog ice cream for your furry friend.

With Covid they installed a walk up window with the menu displayed so all orders are to go but the staff is so friendly you almost forget about the pandemic.

Their ice cream flavors change 😋 so check back for a new flavor.

I can't remember what the drink is called but it is ice cream and cold brew blended together. Talk about a refreshing treat!

The snickers mocha is also fantastic!

It's a cute place but most coffee drinks I've tried there are lackluster at best.
That being said, any ice cream treat and food I've had have been great!

Please please please turn off your online ordering. Myself and 2 other people left after not being acknowledged for 10+ minutes as the workers were hustling to fill orders of guests not even present. I come here multiple days a week and this is always their downfall. The revenue you make online is not worth all the in-person people that end up leaving because this has to take the focus.

I've never had a bad experience at Sweet Em's. It's so nice having this little gem right in the heart of Dogtown. Love the Cheesy Bacon Cornbread, nice balance between the flavors and not too heavy, perfect for a quick bite in the morning. For coffee, love the cold brew but they serve Kaldi so I don't think you could go wrong with any option. Eager to see this business grow.

Sweet Em's is a hidden gem in St. Louis. Great coffee, some of the best freshly made ice cream anywhere, good wifi and locally owned (not a chain). The owner is often around and is super friendly. It's breath of fresh air compared to the larger chain coffee and ice cream shops.

I have only been a handful of times but I swear I think about the Zanzabar Chocolate sometimes and I need to go again! Super yummy ice cream and wonderful staff. It's a small place so it can get packed pretty quickly, but it's so worth it!

We have been getting ice cream from Sweet Em's for awhile now and it is always great. We decided to try out breakfast and went with all vegetarian options--burrito, bowl, and the pancake sandwich. Everything about them was great except the veggie burger they added, for some reason they use an Asian veggie burger as their vegetarian option. There are asian spices, corn, green onions, edamame, etc. By itself, a great veggie burger we've had many times, but in a breakfast sandwich it is an odd choice. Given all the other vegetarian options, including a plain burger or literally a sausage patty, this was unexpected and changed the whole "breakfast" meal into something else. Having said that, all of the parts of the meal were great, but the Asian veggie patty was not the right choice. Eating a cinnamon pancake sandwich dipped in maple syrup with corn and edamame was odd.

I don't know if they rotate veggie patty options, but maybe call and ask before you order!

Nice person. Good coffee. Wasn't hot, but I wanted to drink it right away and it tasted good. Love the milk selection, dairy and not. She cheerfully toasted a bagel for me, too. Please get butter as an alternative to cream cheese.

We had the dark chocolate ice cream with waffle cone and it was amazing. That's usually the flavor we get at other ice cream spots but this is by far the best we've had.
