white mocha was kinda gross but chai latte was bomb with an extra shot. sometimes you gotta cover up milk with extra espresso lol. but really the speed of service was great considering how busy they were on a Saturday afternoon & we even found a place right outside to sit for a minute!

I used to love this place. A little while ago I had asked the cashier if I could order an iced drink with 'no ice', if that would be okay. Given the go ahead I did just that.

When the barista gave me my drink, I was met with a less than half filled cup. I was stunned. I politely asked what this was. She glared at me and with a nasty attitude read my drink order to me. Still dumbfounded, I grabbed my 'drink' and filled the rest of the cup with milk from the bar.

Paying $6+ for what equates to 8 ounce of coffee , when I ordered a large, is INSANE and a total rip off. I know places 'cut costs' by over filling iced iced drinks with ice, but this was just beyond crazy.

Lesson learned- if you want what you actually paid for, order only hot drinks here.

Edit- The company's response is ridiculous. You just blamed me for 'perceiving' the barista as rude (which she was), admitting that if you order a large iced drink, you are actually paying for only 8 oz of coffee, and attempted to 'shame' me for this review. Not a good look for this place.

Get a "Dirty Hippie", it's not on the menu... Eat the pop tart... Sit and watch the people. You'll never be so easily amused and entertained from a simple morning. Get the coffee black and you'll enjoy the effort that came from the whole process of bringing the beans to your mouth. Have a great day!

Coffee was hot and tasty. Full range of sweetners etc. available. The airpot I selected was getting low and required about 8 pumps to fill my medium cup. The staff could have been a little more attentive to the self-serve area.

We stopped in this morning while the owner was roasting the beans. Not only was it a cool experience, but added to the unique atmosphere. I ordered a double-shot Cubano and a sausage breakfast burrito with fresh jalapenos. Both were amazing. You cannot go wrong with City Market Coffee!

Since the owner does not reviel thier name i will not as well.

The coffee and food I bought here were honestly not worth the headache. I tried to speak with staff about the issues i had, and instead of fixing them or coming to a resolution, they just wanted to argue and make it seem as thats the norm.

The service is not good. After reading over other customer reviews, I can clearly see that this is not a trustworthy place of business. Kansas City has many shops with 100× better service and staff.

Well, all I have to say is stay away from this shop. The abundance of under educated staff. Owner that finds humor in belittling customers and overpriced for service!

Any City Market regular knows that this is where the pick-me-ups happen. In their own little corner, City Market Coffee sits in a conveniently central spot, esssentially the glue holding this L shaped building together. Premium beans, delicious grub and quality service are a collective stimulant that should not be passed up by any coffee connoisseur.

City Market Coffee is my go-to in Kansas City. Think of Cheers, but in a Cafe where the staff are friendly, know your name, and usually your preferences as well. Their sourced beans are roasted in house, and if you are lucky you can catch the staff roasing them up, with an aroma that can only be described as euphoric. I highly recommend this staple Coffeehouse, and look forward to them being in the new KC terminal once it opens!

Love coming to City Market Coffee for my latte
It's always consistent in flavor - it's never sour or overly frothed/burnt as I've had unfortunately experienced at other coffee establishments. They also have a skeleton regular overlooking the room that is dressed up for every holiday. So cute!

Cool atmosphere and location, nice staff.
They have the usual vegan options and can do a vegan shake with coconut-based ice cream which is very nice. Not much in the way of vegan baked goods.
