Overall vibe was very chill and low key. The drink I had was yummy and the barista was helpful. It’s a cute little eclectic place.

Nice little quaint coffee House. It's out of the way it's not one of the main stream conglomerate coffee shops. They have a few specialty coffees that are very good. Stuff is usually very courteous and friendly. Great place to just stop and grab a coffee and go usually no long waits.

This was my first experience at a Spyhouse coffee location. The prices were quite high-$5 for a small latte. The coffee was great, but the staff were not very friendly or welcoming. They didn't say anything particularly rude, but I just felt rubbed the wrong way after leaving. I was excited to see this addition to the neighborhood but was a bit of a letdown for me.

I went to the St. Paul location with my friend today around 2PM. My friend is blind and uses a Seeing Eye Dog. As we were getting our drinks the barista that was taking our order asked if he could give the dog a treat, my friends politely declined (since his dog was working). The barista then asked if he could pet the dog, my friend also politely declined for the same reason. Most people understand that when a service dog is working it is recommended that individuals do not try to interact. No problem that the staff member did know that but we were absolutely shocked by what happened next....
After we had sat down with our drinks the barista came to our table to inform us that we needed to leave since their policy is that dogs are not allowed in the store when dining in. I explained that it was a Service Dog (she had on her vest and harness) but the barista stated that is was a new policy that you cannot have a dog sit with you in the shop. I've never experienced that in my life and couldn't believe we were treated that way. My friend then contacted the manager and explained the situation. The manager informed us the staff member was new and did know their policy which was that Service Dogs were allowed. The manager also offered a gift card...... The whole situation was incredibly awkward ridiculous. We will never be back.

Lovely setting and delicious drinks, but slow service and the prices are sky high. $12 for a latte and a chai! Also, it was SO BLAZING HOT in there...we took our drinks to go and went shopping at I Like You Too next door...only to find out it was just as hot in there. Apparently Spyhouse controls the thermostat for the bottom floor of the building and it needs to get figured out quick before it drives customers away!

Phenomenal people, perfect atmosphere, delicious coffee!!! A must when you are in Minnesota!

Coffee and pastries are excellent and they are one of the best roasters in the Twin Cities. I've purchased beans here a couple times and they are always amazing. The staff is friendly and helpful. This is the best cafe in Highland Park.

Let me start by saying Spyhouse Coffee is among the best (if not THE best) coffee I have had, and I've had great coffee all over the US. It is the bar by which I measure great coffee! Unfortunately I have 2 problems recently:
1) I've been to this location 5 times. On 4 occasions the hipster-elite who work here have been snobby and rude. They got offended when I unobtrusively watch the espresso shot being pulled and annoyed when I ask questions like how many grams in and out.
2) The cost across the board is 25% higher than any other high-end coffee shop. The recent move to 10 oz bags, and increased prices for bags of beans is intolerable. I used to bring at least 1 bag home with me, but now it's cheaper to pay shipping for coffee from Revel Roasters or Paradise Roasters than to buy Spyhouse beans.

I hope the owner reads these reviews and sees the trend!

I love the way they serve tea and that they have vikings and goddesses pastry

Very cozy. This is a great coffee shop. Smaller than the other spy houses so maybe not a great place to study. It’s also friendlier - probably because it’s in Saint Paul :) . Great place to pick up a drink before shopping on Snelling.
