Good coffee ,friendly staff but too cozy

Good coffee and customer service. The space is cool, although not for an all day coffee shop squat.
The seating is wood bench seating and wooden stools and chairs. There are only one set of outlets to charge your phone, computer, or other electronic devices. So come fully charged.
There is outside seating area for nice days.
They have pastries sweet and savory.
A few non coffee drinks.
Overall I enjoy stopping here for espresso, lattes, or other coffee drinks and would recommend this spy house to anyone in the area.

Great ambiance and great coffee. Friendly staff.

The coffee here is amazing and the St. Paul location is well-placed along Snelling, which should make it an easy stop for many folks on their way to work. However, the service was a bit slow (took about 15 minutes to get through the line, order, and get my coffee) because only one person was working. Balances out well over the morning, but makes it hard to predict how much time getting a great brew will take. Might not get many in who are ordering to go.
The other drawback is relatively minor, but definitely impacts the experience: they leave the window cracked to prevent condensation build up. While I understand the practicality of that, my friend and I had to sit bundled up the entire time. It felt close to 60 degrees. Our hands were freezing. We'll likely go back to our usual coffee shop if this will be part of the normal experience here. If I'm paying $6 for a coffee drink, I want to enjoy the environment too.

decent coffee. super loud music playing at all times. staff will ignore you unless you have a man-bun or yoga pants.

Chai was great, staff was great. The toilet is sub-optimal, and as a cis-man I cannot say I recommend using it. As this is a coffee house, the comfort, cleanliness and utility of this feature can be quite essential.
Overall experience: Wet, ambivalent - 3/5

Terrible customer service with mediocre coffee. I've been to two other Spyhouses and always thought their coffee drinks wonderfully described, but underwhelming; however, I stopped at this one as each branch of a chain can be different. I ordered two drinks on a Saturday pre-COVID. The shop was terribly understaffed with just two people serving at least 15 customers when I arrived as there were families lounging about. The girl running the register was pleasant if a little overwhelmed and the guy making the drinks was heads down. Patiently waited another 20 min or so for my order but one of the drinks was the wrong size. When I said as much to the guy making the coffee, he yelled angrily that I needed to talk to the girl at the register because he was busy. At this point, the order line was out the door as more families had come in. I was considering disputing the charge with my credit card company and leaving when Mr. Angsty fig'd out it prob was more efficient if he either remade the drink or confirmed with the other employee directly. After much soul searching, he begrudgingly made the drink I wanted then was magnanimous enough to inform me that I had the option to take the other drink as he was just going to toss it. I would like to support a local coffee spot, but this guy was so offputting that I've never cared to stop in again even though I have to drive past to get to a Caribou or Starbucks. Definitely pass on this place unless you are seeking to be served by the moody, lifesucks type that likes to pretend they grew up poor, but finds Midway scary. You know the type.

I love this place, especially the golden milk latte!!! I wish the space was bigger, as it can be hard to find a table, and that they had more charging outlets. Little pricy coffee but so worth it!!!

Excellent coffee, good pastry, pleasant service. Can be a bit full and hard to find a seat at peak hours. Very clean. Industrial classics decor. Nice cups. Not fast coffee joint more of treat to enjoy. Always delicious, consistent quality ingredients, and beverages. Will always recommend and have converted a few friends to my cult like following of the amazing coffee here. Only bean I like better is roundtable’s hotmess, prefer the bold offering of spyhouse to my previous runner up bluebottle’s belladonnavan which is now ranking third place.

When we stopped here around 8pm, it was very crowded. There were no
available tables. This spyhouse is located in the street level Snelling North The atmosphere had all the character a devout coffeehouse customer would expect. Regardless of the crowds and we found stool to seat along next to windows. To us coffee is more than a drink. It is a lifestyle, we were so happy they open late till 9pm. My Chai Latte and my friend cappuccino was not hot enough to enjoy the expansive drinks. Spyhouse overpriced then Starbucks, and I highly recommend investing your money in a coffee shop that actually cares about customers and doesn't ignore and / or gouge them.
