Thought by the name we were going to a Mexican rest. Once welooked at the menu we realized they meant south of the Canadian border. Food was good and will go back again

When you over hear the cook and the waiter discuss the fish delivery from the boat, that’s when you order the fish breakfast. Fresh herring with potatoes and eggs is a filling way to start the day. A nice mix of locals and tourists like me were customers. Waiter provided excellent service.

We stopped by here yesterday. We didn't expect too much due to the lowkey environment, but the food and service were great! I especially loved the fresh caught fish breakfast and the handcut fries. The food came fast and the young man serving us was friendly. As Asians going into small towns, we often get stares or people are unfriendly towards us, but we felt welcomed and had great food. Keep it up! 👍

Is it okay to review a place for the service alone? the lady waitress we had was so damn fun that I'd go back just for her. I wish I knew her name. The food does take a bit of time if they are busy, but they're busy, so it's just part of the routine.
Omelettes, All-American type breakfasts, Hamburger Steak and Eggs, all good choices. The staff is great about keeping your coffee cup full while you wait!!

Not knowing what to expect, my wife and I stopped in for a quick lunch. Restaurant was half-full so we helped ourselves to a booth. Young lady greeted us and informed us that our hostess would be with us in a moment. From there the service was quick, food was fantastic and cost was super cheap. Highly recommended. Will definitely be back when we're in the area.

I enjoyed this restaurant, good value and great food. Service was also good. You can get an excellent breakfast or get a great burger. We always seem to go back for regular meals. I have not been disappointed.

When I was hauling sawlogs into Headstoms up the hill.
I would always call ahead and order my food and eat on the road.
Hands down the best food on the North Shore!! I will go back some time sooner than later!!!

Best breakfast and great burgers. Very affordable and friendly staff.

If you like traditional breakfast, this is the place. Get the hash browns with onions and cheese. The eggs are cooked perfect and the sausage is great quality. Tasty pancakes that rival Perkins.

I think this was the only place in town open for breakfast for this visit time. Not much of town open yet due to season and probably covid affects. Not a Mexican place at all since this named for south of Canadian border. Nice basic no frills breakfast. I’ll eat here again. Decor could really use some updating as it was probably snazzy 20 years ago and 5 years ago they should have freshened it up. But this is like the whole town: In need of modernization as it is clean and comfortable but could use some upkeep and repairs. It’s northern Minnesota so if you are expecting metro glitz stay back in the metro.
