Great place with lots of useful information and gear! Employees are always kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. Safety is #1 priority, and the staff closely monitors the weather to make sure the water conditions are safe to allow visitors to rent kayaks and paddle to Turnip Rock. The town of Port Austin itself is a neat place at the top of the thumb, and all of the nearby water trails are really pretty and nice for day trips. Would definitely recommend for the most professional Turnip Rock/Broken Rocks trip! I even proudly wore my Port Austin Kayak hat at the location where Washington crossed the Delaware!

Great place to rent kayaks. The Old Town yaks they have here are wide, stable, easy to paddle and are in great condition. My 10 year old son used one without issue, though I did tow him at times hen he became tired.
All safety gear is provided (just bring sunblock, glasses, water and a hat you're good to go).
Staff at the facility is young but the owner is a very good leader and keeps them organized and on top of things.
Was a pleasure to rent from this place. Will definitely go back.

Great place to kayak on Lake Huron and go to Turnip Rock. 3.6 miles seemed like a long way to the Rock, but, it was so easy. We found some shallow spots in the lake to park our kayaks and hang out. Clean facility with nice employees. Small eatery attached with picnic tables outside. Can't wait to go again.

Super helpful and friendly from start to finish! It was my first trip in a kayak and Im definately going back! I tell all my friends that have been wanting to do the turnup rock trip- just do it! This was such a great experience. I highly reccomend this trip with this company.

My family and I had a good experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is first come first serve. So I recommend getting there early. I was put on a waiting list for an hour and a half, but the wait was well worth it. Im a beginner kayaker and It took me about 45 to an hour to get to turn up rock from the lunch.

Large kayaks and beautiful route to get to turnip rock. Did the 4 hour trip and spent about 30 minutes resting on shore by turnip rock. Customer service was great and they are more than welcome to answer your questions!

Well organized and attentive staff. Answered our questions. Nice (but limited) selection of gear and apparel. This is on top of the rental business.

Nice place to rent a kayak by kayaking equipment in t-shirts and eat! They were very honest with us and telling us that we should not put our own kayaks in and go to turnip Rock because there were too many white caps. We appreciated that information as we had an experienced kayakers with us.

The kayak place is really good, but the water trail to turnip rock kinda sucks because there isn't any where to stop and eat. The beach owners are horrible because the post signage for no trespassing everywhere. Nature should be enjoyable and enjoyed by everyone.

We drove three hours out to Port Austin from Detroit because we had reserved two kayaks and were looking forward to seeing the Turnip Rock. Then our reservation was cancelled due to the wind speed and we had to drive the three hours home without seeing anything. Of course it is not their fault, but it was a very disappointing experience.
