Great food and service was a blast! We had great fun, with our waitress, and she made wonderful suggestions. Fried Mushrooms are a specialty, and delicious. And, their pies are ALL homemade. Plus many choices. Can't wait to go back for breakfast.

Me and my cousin finished eating our meal and a cockroach ran across the table I killed it I asked the waitress to come over I showed it to her and it quiet manner then the owner came yelling at me and told me to get out and he was going to call the police on me then he was going to lay his hands on me I'll put it on Facebook and I also plan on calling the city on them do not eat there even though I do got to admit the food was good but who knows what was in that food

One of my family's favorite places to go regardless of what the occasion is.

Haven't been there in years. I surely will go back soon. Forgot how amazing the food was. Good home cooking at a reasonable price.

Took my grandson in there for lunch. He ordered scrambled eggs and bacon and he is a bacon lover he wouldn't touch it because it was absolutely nasty he hardly ate any of the eggs whatsoever because they look like they had been held over since early morning. I ordered barbecue chicken dinner the chicken was smoked which I didn't ask for and it was very dry the potatoes were scooped in a perfect circle like using a ice cream scooper
I don't blame the waitress at all. The owner seems to just not care

Service was really slow. Waited quite a while for someone to come to our table for drink orders. Ordered our food and the waitress came (after we should have gotten our food) and said she had to go find the cook and that our food would be coming. This was 5:00 on a Saturday, like prime dinner time. After we got our food, we waited a long time to order dessert because the waitress never came back. We had to ask 3 times for take out boxes and didn't get the coffee that was ordered with dessert until the pie was almost all eaten. The food was really good. Our table got the Classic Reuben, Cabbage Rolls on special and kids cheese pizza. The cabbage roll portion was huge! We also got coconut cream pie which was really good. Two tables and almost a 3rd got up and walked out after waiting either for food or for service. One table said they had waited over an hour for their food. They were there before us and we waited a LONG time.They have a good thing going with the food. Just need to get their poop in a scoop on service all the way around.

Went for the AUC fish dinner and we met another couple at 5:30. We got waited on quickly and ordered an appetizer so far so good, however after that our order took about 40 minutes. Our poor waitress was upset bc our food was taking so long to get. We kept waiting while other people got more fish but we still waited for ours. I think the other waitress was grabbing our orders making our waitress wait and it was upsetting to her. We told her not to worry. I felt bad for her. Fish was great both the walleye and the cod

11 inch home made pies unbelievable. Hot beef plate all day

Ive been going to the cafe for decades. It has had it's ups and downs as every business does but I can say the food has always been consistently good. Great fish on Fridays, wonderful homemade pies, and always gives you that charm of a small town charm with seating for dozens. I come here every time I'm in town, leaving full and happy with each visit. Highly recommended.

2/14/2021. Went there for breakfast and we placed our order at 9:45. 2 separate couples came in after us and got their food before us. We got ours at 10:20. I ordered a plain ham and cheese omelette. Once I got it it also had potatoes in it. I did not eat it once I found the potatoes in it. Told the waitress and she did offer to replace it but I said no. She never told the cook, never took anything off the check. I will not be going back there.
