Walked in, saw they had about 4 drink options and left. Needed to get a few different items for a few people. The items were pretty typical but they didn't have half of them so it wasn't really worth the Tetris I had to play with other cars for a parking spot. Maybe I'll find my way in when it's just me and actually taste the coffee. But if you're going to call yourself a coffee bar you should probably have a little larger variety.

Top notch coffee and customer service. The barista took the time to explain the difference between each drink to me. It made me feel welcomed, instead of confused & drinking something I didn't want. The art on my latte was also beautiful!!

The Coffee: guess I'm a fan of medium roasts because I haven't had a bean from them that I've hated. Comparing an in-house coffee roaster to a coffee house isn't exactly the same. I'll take a pour over that was fresh made over coffee that's been sitting in an urn anyday.
The Espresso: I've only had one bad espresso pull from Rowsters in the year I've been frequenting them, and they comped it for me because they even knew it wasn't good. A few other coffee shops I've visited here in GR have given me burnt shots almost every time. And I'm pretty sure Rowsters is the only place I've ever been anywhere (including a few Seattle roasters) that gives you soda water for espresso shots.
Prices: Yes, the prices of beans aren't cheap. But you're paying for the craft. If you survive on 5 cups a day, this probably isn't a great choice. But if you're like me who only needs 1-2 cups of damn good straight coffee throughout your day, Rowsters is worth the price.
Service: All of the employees have been nothing but nice to me. I have definitely witness them being incredibly helpful to customers who normally visit a chain coffee shop; explaining the style of their roasts and what the customer might enjoy.

They make their own coffee very well. I know that sounds silly, but seriously buy some coffee from a place that brews and sells and make it at home. If you know what you're doing they taste very similar. Rowsters coffee in rowsters is simply the best coffee I've ever had. The seating/decor has definitely improved over the years. The prices are bit too high for a cup of coffee. Employees are friendly.
Madcap be damned, this is my favorite coffee in the city.

This is a great local spot. Great neighborhood. Friendly staff. Coffee is excellent. Great music too. Stop in and check them out for a great cup of coffee. They have a great selection of cookies and pastries. Lots of other great local shops to check out nearby too.

This is some of the best coffee I've had in the entire world! AND the fact that they make their own Almond Milk sets them above what any GR coffee house could ever aspire to. . . . . . .
It's refreshing to find a place that takes great care in ever detail of their coffee ! This happy customer will gladly pay the prices at Rowster any day over others to get the perfection of their Almond Latte.

Great and friendly service. Their prices are a bit steep and there isn't a lot of seating, but their coffee tastes fantastic. The best tasting cold brew I've ever had.

Best coffee beans I've found in grand rapids! I particularly enjoy their space themed naming of the bean blends. Parking is rough as there are only two spots, but street parking is available!

A bit on the expensive side, but if you're looking for a meld of modern minimalism and vintage hipster style this is the place for you. The staff are very friendly and they obviously enjoy working there. Note: make sure to ask if you want cream or sugar, they give you black by default.

Good little local shop that roasts their own coffee. Can be a little pricy, but I find satisfaction in knowing it is a local business and when that succulent coffee hits my tongue. There are also pastries and cookies available that are delicious. I do believe they're from someplace local.
