The staff was super friendly. I was taken aback by the simple menu at first. I ordered a latte and was very satisfied. The flavor of the coffee was balanced and smooth. I normally find espresso to be too dark for me but in this case it's perfect.

Super pretentious, beyond hipster. The coffee is good though. Strange little place. The building is nice, great products, cool customers. Just something about the staff I encountered...there was a atmosphere of "I'm better than you." It hung in the air so thick, you could cut it.

Best coffee in Grand Rapids. Good service. Well lit. Not as busy as some of the other places downtown. If you are more into lattes rather than the pour overs you should try their almond milk lattes; they make their own almond milk. Great place to hang out or study.

Absolutely, hands down best coffee in the area. Excellent brew and for the most part staff is friendly. If you are not familiar with coffee lingo the staff is very willing to educate you on fine coffees. There are whole beans available for purchase as well from different single origin places. Staff will grind the beans for you if desired. The environment is extremely hipster and expect to see college kids on laptops or listening to podcasts on their expensive headphones. It is a great place if you need a quiet location to work, but I prefer getting the coffee and leaving because hipsters are annoying.

I am not going to try and be gentle here at all.
This is easily the most disappointing coffee experience I have ever had. I ordered a Cafe Mocha and Cinnamon Honey, both were VERY weak. Almost like watered down. The large was a 12 oz serving. The 2 Coffees and 2 Scones were 20.00 with the "forced" 20% tip.
I would avoid this place like the plague, there are many good and some great coffee houses in Grand Rapids. Try Kava House or Common Ground for a good experience and The Bitter End for a great experience.
Several of the reviews here I am assuming, are those that enjoy Coffee that is very lite, or inexperienced for lack of a better word.

Staff is as good as products served. Ask and they will walk you through getting a drink

Great spot to get a well made coffee. The environment is very cozy.

Their service is pretty lacking. We asked to have a pastry warmed up, and the response was "sorry, the person in charge of warming stuff up is gone already." When asking for a small paper bag (we had decided to take our pastry home and warm it up in our own microwave), we got a sigh and an eye roll. Definitely not coming back. Too expensive for what you actually get.

A little on the expensive side for what you get and I thought that the ambiance and furniture was lacking in comfort. I would not call this coffee shop cozy, and the chairs are hard. There is outside seating, but again the chairs are terrible.
Overall the coffee tastes good, but I didn't feel comfortable staying there for a long time and ordering a second cup.

I just love it here. I like sitting at the counter at the front window and being able to look out to the street/sidewalk. also milky way is my favorite coffee of all time. you can buy beans there and they will grind it for you. 👍🏼
