Decent drinks and plenty of little snacks but, sometimes, the art in coffee and tea is a little bit lost at the Bitter End.
Edit: To clarify, the atmosphere and artwork are both wonderful here - I really appreciated the coaster art. What disappointed me a bit was the way Herba Matte was brewed and how the coffee doesn't meet my tastes. I was just surprised the staff didn't seem as knowledgeable as expected, but it's still a neat place.

I love this space, and the baristas are generally very nice. However, the coffee itself is not up to the high standards of this city. I’ve enjoyed their smoothies and other blended beverages, but cannot recommend them for their coffee. If you’re looking for some great coffee, go to Madcap, Rowster, Lantern, Sparrows— there is no shortage of it in Grand Rapids.

This is a very quiet, quaint coffee shop. The baristas take their time with each individual coffee or latte. It’s worth the wait!
I’ve been writing my book here for the last 22 months!
Love my coffee house and all the friends I have made!

Excellent staff. Food menu is limited and not very good but the coffee is good. Atmosphere is nice and cozy. Very welcoming place.

This is a great little hang out for the locals in the neighborhood. I personally enjoy the raspberry Royale smoothie one of my favorite things to get when I get here. The baristas are awesome.

Cool building, good coffee. I almost hate to give it 2 stars, but after sitting down and having 3+ gnats swarming me, each one took off a star. I'm not sure if this was a one time thing or what, but I really can't relax and study with bugs swarming my coffee.

This place is always interesting and unique! Lots of tables so it can get packed and you're literally on top of your neighbors. But the coffee is great. And it's cozy.

24 hrs, a lot of options, and the walls, ceilings and lamps are pretty cool. Maren is a natural barista and she made my espresso with the right amount of kick to get me through the rest of my day.

The baristas at The bitter end are always so thoughtful and detail-oriented, very friendly and personable, and really make you feel welcome when you step in the door. I adore coming here, and lucky for me because it's 2 minutes from my house. Exceptional!
