If you can't get them in New Orleans this is a great alternative! Friendly staff also! Definitely worth the visit!

Best Beignets outside of New Orleans. Purchased from Main Street window location. Light, fluffy, perfect small heart shaped size. If you aren’t wearing the powdered sugar, you aren’t eating them right.

Honestly don't understand the hype about this place neither the beignets or the coffee are great. I definitely wouldn't go back.

Amazing beignets. Best since Cafe Du Monde. Delicious gumbo!!! What a find. Best food in town.

My boyfriend and I tried the yard stick slushies. Pretty cool idea of theirs! It tasted good. You can always just do all of one flavor or just 2 of the flavors if you wanted instead, but we both did all 3 flavors. I was worried that it was going to be too big for me too finish, but it wasn't too hard to finish.

There...... this past July 2022 on a hot day. But the hot coffee was extremely good.
I barely play games
The staff genuinely care about the customers. The beignets are fresh and hot and the hot chocolate is great

My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.
TL;DR: Weak coffee, lackluster gumbo, and severely undercooked beignets. Won't be returning.

Let's start that the service was prompt and kind, no issues with that at all. The food though...
Having had my fair share of beignets, coffee, and gumbo in New Orleans proper, I was ecstatic to see the high ratings of this establishment when we decided to make the trip up here for a weekend getaway.
Ordered the gumbo special (2 pints gumbo with a half-dozen beignets), along with a cafe au lait, and a couple other drinks for the kids.
Beignets... Too dense and underdone, completely closed structure, with an unfortunate taste of raw flour when biting in. No puffiness, no lightness. They're hot and all, obviously fresh out of the fryer, but... This isn't a proper beignet. At best, it wasn't fried long enough. Someone needs to up the Quality Control game here. Also... They're pretty small.
The gumbo...
I consider gumbo a damned near perfect soup. So much flavor can be packed into a little bowl. Not here though.
The broth is downright watery and under-seasoned. It lacked any sort of meaningful mouthfeel. It's actually really strange to see all the okra in there for how watery it is. It's spicy, sure, but it's not a mouthful of deeply spiced and toasted-roux thickened broth that makes a genuine bowl. The spicy heat was more just straight heat than a nice amalgamation of spices that happened to generate some tingle on the tongue.
The chicken is a travesty of seems-like-non-homemade, questionable quality. If it IS homemade, they need to change their recipe or the source of their chicken because something is waaaaay off. It smacked of commercially mass-produced refrigerated grilled chicken that was reheated when it was thrown in the soup. Please correct us if we're wrong though... but that's how it tasted to us. There was also just a couple little slices of sausage in each of our pints, seemed... Lacking.
Cafe au lait... In a word, weak. Way too little milk, and yet somehow also very little coffee flavor. This is a double whammy. Didn't even want to drink it after a few sips. I guess the watered down thing is a going theme here.
Kids had a coffee frappe and a vanilla bean coffee... They drank it, can't say more on that.
Low atmosphere rating mostly due to the lack of space to eat. Cutely painted building though.

The beignets are really good. Ordering at the counter felt like dealing with a used car salesman . I wasn’t expecting the constant up sell. I ordered 3 beignets and was advised they were really small. So I ordered additional only to find them to be much bigger than lead to believe. The cappuccino came out of a machine, like at a gas station, but at least they added whipped cream. Had the lying about the portion size not occurred, I would give the place 5 stars. I just feel taken advantage of. It’s a bummer as what I thought was someone being helpful was actually someone taking advantage of a first time visitor.

While we were looking for some donuts or breakfast pastries, we happened upon this place in the River place shops. We ended up ordering plain beignets, which were delicious. They were fried to perfection and dusted with powdered sugar. You are able to choose a number of dipping sauces, however I don't think they're needed.
