Canoe On the Run

Was at the resort for the weekend and went around looking for breakfast and Canoe on the Run was the closest and great place to go to. They have many selections of sandwiches and salads here. We came in for the breakfast sandwich on croissant and the breakfast wrap specials in the morning which was excellent. The food here was very fresh and their coffee is good. Definitely recommend if you're around the area

Had a bad experience 2/3 times eating here.

If you like rude staff, paying $15 for a sandwich + drink and standing in the rain for 10 minutes to wait for your food - this place is for you!

This is by far DC's most well kept secret, still, though they've been around for more than 15 years. Ambiance, food, location, access... feels like a mountain resort cafe should feel. The menu is excellent, variable and fresh. Our favorite lake eats location. Indoor and outdoor seating (great when the weather accommodates). Great music choices. Well decorated interior and we'll placed in the lake scenery to make you feel like you are actually at a lake resort. If I could give 6 stars I would. No lake view, but that's almost a plus. You should visit.

The service was extremely slow with only 3 people in line to order. They make everything before taking the next order. Turkey and bacon sandwich was average. The chili was very good. They forgot to put chicken on the chicken and fruit salad..

Let me start by saying Canoe on the Run is one of my favorite restaurants in Deep Creek. They have a great, well-rounded menu to choose from along with an extensive daily specials board. The reason why I am giving this review only 3 stars is because today and many times before, I have had to wait an hour or more for 2 café sandwiches and a cup of soup. I understand when large parties walk in just before a me, that there will be an expected wait but today was a little excessive. Again, the food is GREAT! I highly suggest checking it out.

I wouldve given it 5 stars if they gluten free bread and choices. It's so odd that they didnt! I had to take what wouldve been a sandwich and put it in an omelette, which worked but there was no flavor added. And after we spent $60 in breakfast, the owner wanted to charge me $3 when I went back up to the counter for a tiny bit of goat cheese to add some flavor!!! So weird. Not very accommodating to the consumer.
The lattes are delicious though.

Decently priced, but the quality wasn't anything spectacular. The service was also very slow. Overall, an underwhelming experience.

Great food, friendly staff. Just the right size portions not to big and you're not still hungry after you eat. Fresh food so yeah spend your money here!

Had a chicken and avocado sandwich. Very tasty. Easy to tell that all of the ingredients are fresh and everything is made fresh. Definitely comes through in the food. Great place to grab a sandwich and drink.
