Not Your Mama's Cafe & Tavern

Took my family there for the first time last night and we absolutely loved it. The food was exceptional, great flavor and very generous portions. Service was excellent, our waiter Michael made us feel so welcome and anticipated all of our needs. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great genuine Cajun dining experience. Will be returning very soon!

The fried food is awesome !

The fried alligator and fried fish is so good.

The red fish with crab on top is disgusting.

It taste like cough syrup.

The seafood dip is a blob of cheese.

Would not recommend it at all.

The seafood angel hair pasta is really good!....

The seafood ravioli is not that great .

I would go back if I was in the area but would not go out if my way to get there.

Excellent dining experience, every dish we ate was delicious, our waitress was so kind and patient. Would definitely recommend!

Staff was real nice. No Jack Daniels at the bar but the beer on tap was real good. Nice place big menu with seafood and pasta. Comfortable area with a fireplace in between bar and regular seating. I will be back and thanks to all

Sometimes the food is excellent.
Many times the food is substandard. I need consistency. I usually spend $50 for two meals & pickup food and its not good, I just cant leave good reviews.
Last week was my final straw. I drive 30 min round trip and food is sometimes good. I cant continue to waste time and money in hopes I get a good or even edible meal.
Management tries to resolve but the problem is the cooks.

Stopped for early dinner. We had crab cakes over angel hair pasta and shrimp Nancy. Both entrees were huge and delicious! Definitely enough for left overs! Our waitress, Lauren, was very attentive & helpful.

Stopped in with a friend for coffee and dessert only and, wow! The portions were huge and beyond delicious. Sampled the bread pudding with praline sauce and the coconut cake. Service was friendly and I liked the ambience and the little courtyard for dining outside. If the dessert is this good, I can’t wait to try a full meal.

The food and atmosphere were excellent! The waitress was wonderful. We went at 4:00 and there was no wait which was excellent because my 86 yr old grandmother was with us. The short amount of time it took us to get our food impressed me as well seeing as they had two large groups at the time. Prices are comparable and I will very likely return when I pass that way again.
