Not Your Mama's Cafe & Tavern

Service was terrible. Was seated with out menus, had to go get our own menus. After about 15 minutes, a lady came by and took drink orders, but couldn't take our whole order. We Asked her about a waitress/waiter and was told who ever is next to serve will come help you. It wasn't busy either. 10 more minutes still no drinks and no one to come check on us to take order. Walked out. Nice looking place, but grass really needed to be cut too.

There was a 30 minute wait even though the restaurant was 1/4 full. Even with Covid restrictions there was room to seat more according to their capacity number and all seats were clearly 6 or more feet apart. Once we were seated we quickly ordered our food with drinks bc we had plenty of time waiting to be seated to go over menu. In 40 minutes appetizer (chicken nachos) comes out. An HOUR after chicken nachos our fried fish and shrimp showed up! Fish and shrimp obviously sat in window a while before waitress brought it to table. The food was cold, fries were soggy. Other People in the restaurant was complaining about the same problem.

On our way home from a Funeral my family and I were Starving and we came across Not your Mamas tavern it was the perfect place for us to go to satisfy our hunger. The staff was so welcoming and polite and the food was amazing the only thing better was the atmosphere it was hands down the best in door eating experience I've had in year's and that's coming from someone who goes out to eat places every Saturday I can't wait to bring my little brother and some friends here next time we all get a chance.

We stopped here on the way home from Lafayette. It was absolutely delicious! Loved the boudin balls appetizer and my chicken fried steak was awesome. I also had a Bloody Mary and it was good. Waitress was very nice and our food came out quickly. I will be back next time we are in the area!!! :)

This my go to spot when I want a lil drive out, and especially when I don't want to drive down to N O.

Food is top notch here! There is a wait sometimes but the wait is worth it for sure. Very friendly staff and the place is super clean!

Eggplant Sarah and the Not your Mama's salad were both excellent as enjoyed by me and my wife. Service was a little slow but worth the wait. The rolls yeast rolls were really good. Nice atmosphere.

Food was awesome as always but service was terrible. I think the manager was our waiter. Felt like he forgot about us. Took 2 hrs from the time we walked in to the time we left. I am sure they were short handed due to covid. We have highly recommended this restaurant to our friends and family for past 3 years and has been one of our favorite restaurants. It will be a while before we go back.

Crawfish Etouffee was Amazing, the Green Beans was packed full of flavor! Bread Pudding with Rum Sauce was thick, moist and delicious! The 13 empty place settings honoring the heroes spoke volumes of the staff and management.

Food was great, our server Donna was horrible. Our family is a mix black-hispanic family, some of us were speaking Spanish I hope that wasn't the reason why our server said "I told you" to her boss when we were leaving... I own a restaurant and usually like to tip 20-25% this time I tipped 10% but should've left nothing, she never checked on us, nor kept us informed on why our food was taking so long, over 1 hour. Two tables were sat after us and they got their food way before we did and her attitude was completely different with them, the hostess did a much better job she was apologetic and helped with drink refills....left with a bad experience from this place
