This place is hit or miss. Sometimes the food and service are excellent and other times it is awful. I literally went in on a Friday and everything was perfect, then I was back on the following Sunday and it was a mess. I would highly recommend the halo’s, beignets, and French press. I have tried items from both the lunch and breakfast menu multiple times with friends and family. The consensus is the items on breakfast menu seem to be better prepared. On a good day, I would say this place is a 4-5 stars on service and quality of food. On a bad day, the opposite is true, 1-2 stars. Out of the many times I have gone here it’s always either great or horrible. Roll the dice and hopefully you go on one of the good service and food days because it will be excellent. If you end up there on one of the off days, make sure to tell the management and hopefully after enough mixed feedback they will address the issues to make the experience more consistent.

Food was great. There's something in the pancakes that made me eat it all. Food is well worth the money. Unfortunately the grits had an odd flavor that lm not used to.

Everyone said the border dispute between Croatia and Serbia couldn't be solved, and I was starting to believe them. President Obama tasked me with leading negotiations between the two nations, and after three failed summits in Berlin, Vienna, and Lisbon, I decided to give it one more shot at the Abita Roast House in Covington. If I couldn't resolve this issue for my good friend Barack, the ramifications on Europe's wool market would have been staggering. Luckily, we had Liberty as our server. Negotiations were breaking down before the coffee had even come out. There was no way I could report back to the Big O (my personal nickname for my buddy Barack on account of him being very large) a successful mission. Both Prime Ministers were screaming at each other! That's when Liberty walked up. She said that's not how we treat each other at Abita Roast House in Covington. She said they fostered an environment that was welcoming, friendly, and casual. It inspired both Prime Minister to bring that same mentality to the Danube River. My lifelong companion President Obama said the only person who inspired him more than me was that pleasant and attentive waitress, Liberty.

I've always had a great experience here. The food is always tasty and quick. Service is great. It's a great breakfast and lunch place. Their specialty coffees are also very tasty. Their outdoor seating is really nice and they also have a pet chicken named Waffle that sometimes walks around! It's overall an excellent place for a quick coffee or bite to eat. They also have a drive through.

I love coming here! It is a relaxing atmosphere where if your party gets a little loud, it's okay. The food is always delicious and fresh! The coffee is amazing and they offer desserts and pastries. I have not had the desserts or pastries, but I imagine if they are anything like the breakfast/lunch items they will be delicious. Service has always been excellent!

Very nice and helpful server! I ordered the Mardi Gras latte and purchased a gf lava cake. Both were delicious!! I also purchased a bag of Brazilian bean coffee which I can't wait to try!

We used to love this place and frequent it often. It is a place we take guests for breakfast and has always been towards the top of our list of breakfast spots. However, the past few times we have been in, the service has been terrible .Very SLOW. My husband and I ran a successful restaurant in the past and I can tell you that there's no reason to have to sit more than five minutes before someone asks if you want coffee. As I was eating my breakfast (which I have no complaints about the food, its the only reason I'm giving two stars) I noticed a thick layer of dust on all the menu boards, art work and the wall itself behind the main counter. Thick!! It hasn't been cleaned in a long time .
When our waitress brought the ticket she left and didn't return for another five plus minutes so I went to the counter to pay. She didn't notice this nor did she notice us leaving (very slowly because my husband just had surgery and is on crutches so we weren't exactly "dashing out")
As we were almost to our car, the waitress came out and accused us of not paying. She was not politely asking either, she was very rude. Other customers who were leaving at the same time remarked on her attitude and also stated that their service was terrible. If the waitress had been paying attention she would have noticed what had gone on. They weren't even full and they have sufficient staff to keep an eye on everyone. I was very offended to be accused of dining and dashing.
I'm done with Abita Roasting for a while.Hopefully they can get it together and return to what it once was.

I can honestly say that the food was of good quality, but sadly, the service managed to ruin what should have been a very pleasant meal. The waitstaff was informed about a serious allergy which they completely disregarded. Fortunately, the mistake/negligence was evident when the meal arrived, and there were no serious repercussions. A seared tuna-avocado salad was ordered. The salad arrived minus the avocado. The waitstaff casually mentioned that they had run out 10 minutes prior and didn't even bother to ask if we still wanted the entrée without a key ingredient. The fish arrived almost raw, although it had been seared nicely on the outside. I took it home and finished cooking it myself. When the bill arrived, we noticed we had been charged for items we had not ordered. We asked that the bill be fixed. It was not, and for want of time, we left very annoyed, having overpaid. This was the first time I have ever given a restaurant an unfavorable review, but I am hoping that these shortcomings can be addressed to save what I believe to be a restaurant that offers mostly quality and innovative cuisine.
