Great Bagel & Bakery

This spot is ready for an upgrade in space. Granted the Manhattan vibe, of wall to wall people getting their coffee and bagels on is refreshing in Kentucky , generally speaking. However, great bagel is just on the cusp on truly leaving a lasting impression instead of being the carb fix you forget about once you graduate. Also, be warned once the breakfast blend runs out (often), the coffee tends to be bitter...

I've been taking my boys now ages 2, 6, and 8 here for "bagel dates" every Wednesday for the past 2 years. As a parent in the LGBTQ+ community I'm sometimes wary of how my family will be accepted. Let me tell y'all...I've been welcomed with WIDE open arms from my first order. My family has been treated like their family every visit. The staff remembers our order and asks my kids how school or sports are going and Lara and Robert are just some of the hardest working folks I know. Can't say enough about this business or the team :).

The bagels are indeed great. Sadly it's the poor customer service and terrible coffee that let's me forget this place as a viable breakfast option but about once a year. This morning was no difference: delicious everything bagel! But the barista/bagelista couldn't have been more non-caring. It took 10 minutes to get my bagel and a cafe au lait that ended up tasting like bitter burned coffee with a splash of milk.

I really really want to like this place, but my experiences don't seem to change. I guess with an ever changing population of students there is no real need to improve service or offer quality coffee.

Came here with my sister the morning after a wedding and was shocked that I hadn't come sooner. The place was packed, but people cleared out quickly after they got their bagels. The bagel breakfast sandwiches Ilwe got were amazing, and the coffee was pretty good as well. Neat little gem tucked away in a nondescript shopping center. I'll definitely be back!

Well unfortunately I was not able to enjoy this awesome place!! The bagels looked fantastic and I'm sure were delicious! I guess they think that people only eat gluten free on Saturday and Sunday! Nothing about this on the website! I was traveling and drove out of my way to have a bagel and coffee for breakfast! Left extremely disappointed! I would have been happy with one from the fridge or freezer if they don't have enough demand for gf through the week! I guess the owner does not understand the joy in finding some great gf item and then have their hopes dashed because they can't enjoy what most people take for granted. I don't like to leave bad reviews, but really gf only on Sat. And Sun.!!! I will be back next year, maybe then they will be serving them through the week! I'd love to try one!!

I ordered the BMB on an everything bagel and a medium hot chocolate today. The hot chocolate was very yummy. Not too sweet, which I enjoy, and it had a real cocoa taste to it, not like packaged Swiss mix. The BMB was FANTASTIC. It reminded of a Vietnamese Bánh Mì. The bagel could have a little more sauce for my personal taste but I'll know to ask for next time. The customer service was fine, nothing to write home about, but they were busy and it is the middle of a pandemic so 🤷. Overall, I will definitely go back.

I Absolutely Love Great Bagle! The minute I walk in the door it feels like family. Everyone is so pleasant and willing to answer any questions you may have. I never have a long wait for my order. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is great. I Highly recommend Great Bagle! If you have not tried them then you are missing out!

Small Town feel with great breakfast options. They have self serve coffee, and water stations. Very fast a efficient with their orders. Plenty of space to hang out. Easy to park.

I hate to write this negative review because I live in the neighborhood around this restaurant and was so excited to see it open. However, today I went to purchase a cup of coffee and the service was awful! I went in around 1:15 today and asked if the coffee was freshly brewed. The cashier rudely explained that it was brewed this morning and it not to worry it was plenty "hot" and warned me their machines are "state of the art and don't test them because the coffee will burn your hands." I was so dumbfounded at his response I stupidly paid over three dollars for 7+ hour old coffee. Majorly disappointed. Hoping the bagels will be better than the coffee and service I experienced today. Hot and fresh are NOT the same thing when it comes to coffee.

Love this place! Great variety of bagels, sandwiches, and spreads. They also have great drinks. Only downfall is that it is small and can get overly crowded. Would love it if they had another location or even did online ordering for to go orders.
