I'm so excited to finally have a good coffee shop in this area! This place just opened, so they're still tweaking their recipes and are very open to feedback. But I thought everything was delicious already. My Witte mocha was wonderful, and the barista said the white chocolate is a special blend the owner makes. The french toast muffin was also very tasty.
Staff are super nice and helpful and already seem on top of their game for a coffee shop that just opened. The shop is cute, too, with plenty of seating and free wifi for those who want to sit and work.

Drive from Johnston! I make the drive to The Coffeesmith from Johnston at least 1x a week to get the Pablo Honey. I have tried to get closer coffee shops to make this latte for me and no one has come close to how amazing the Coffeesmiths latte taste. Its amazing. Perfect mixture of honey, cinnamon and a great espresso taste that comes through. I dont know how they do it! I wish they would expand- come to Johnston!

Tried it based off of the reviews, very disappointed.
2 of my iced drinks were served Luke warm which was unappetizing. The flavor and even the whip on one was very off compared to the other same drink.
Outside of the botched drinks, the flavor was good not great, 1 barista was friendly the other refused to talk or even make eye contact.
I wouldn't recommend it, and I won't go back.

I can finally go somewhere in Waukee that isn’t Dunkin or Starbucks, and it’s somewhere really good. I love that they change up their seasonal drink offerings pretty frequently, and I also like their food selection. They’ve improved their espresso a lot since they opened, and they sell more take-home roasts and beans than they used to. The only issue is that the staff mostly seems like a bunch of high schoolers that don’t take it seriously, and like 1 or 2 folks that really care and know what they’re doing. That leads to a bit of variation in service and drink quality, but the food and atmosphere are always good. I have a remote job, so it’s important for me to find places that I can work to get out of the house, and this is so close to my house. It’s the perfect setup. It’s usually quiet enough to get some work done, and it doesn’t feel cramped if you sit at a table with your laptop. Their wi-fi is also fast enough for really anything you’d need to do. Definitely recommend this place for coffee, breakfast food, and working remotely if you need any of that in the Waukee area.

So you say you like coffee, then why haven't you been to The Coffeesmith?
The is a cozy coffee shop located in Waukee. Its next to 3 big chain coffee shops, and out performs all of them combined.
The staff are all amazing, they constantly develop new recipes, and all the baristas are artists in their own right. This is the only place I get coffee when I don't brew it myself.
Seriously why aren't you in line yet, I thought you wanted a great coffee experience. I'm telling you it's going to be a religious experience.

This is the best coffee / wifi cafe I've been to in the Waukee area. The breakfast sandwich with ham and bacon is top. The coffee is made the way it's supposed to be made. I had the Pablo Honey (Espresso + Cinnamon + Honey + Milk) and it was delicious. The wifi is 71 down & up so video meetings are not a problem here. The music is good and the vibe from the staff is welcoming. The only thing I wish could change is if they stay open past 6pm. I'll be making this my default wifi cafe for getting work done from now on.

Ron Swanson a true manly breakfast sandwich.

An awesome place to meet up with friends or get through some emails. The coffee is way better than anything you'll find at Starbucks. The seasonal specials are especially delicious!

The Coffeesmith is always great. The baristas are friendly and the drinks are tasty.
Make sure you check the seasonal menu on the counter. It has some drink recipes only around for a limited time.

Decent product, but they were out of a syrup already, so that was a pain. Over-priced but understandable given the newness of the business. Went to go back to try something else, but they’re closed on Sunday, which is a big detractor as a coffee shop. Only being open until 6pm also ruins a chance to use this as a study location.
