Stomping Grounds Cafe

I loved the atmosphere food, drinks, and service when I went here for brunch while in Ames. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area! I've also heard amazing things about their sandwiches so keep that in mind!

This is by far the best coffee shop in Ames. Their espresso is the best, so smooth and full of flavor. Their mochas of any kind (hot, iced, or ice cream blended) are also the best in Ames because they melt barely sweetened ground chocolate into the espresso; no corn syrup flavoring! The food is also delicious, all of it. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and the staff are always friendly, never pretentious. If you can handle lactose, you must try the ice cream cappuccino or ice cream mocha... so amazing! And the outdoor patio is awesome when the weather's nice (it does happen in Iowa).

Wow! The service was great and fast. I only had the grilled cheese but it was good. The fancy lemonade was not that great for my taste. They have outside seating and it was a great day to sit outside.

These are some of the tastiest crepes I have ever had. The atmosphere is exactly what one would expect for a college town crepe shop. The low key studying in the corners mixed with the random games and laughter on the side. Conversations verying from light and whimsical to the deep thought provoking conversations of aspiring theologians and scholars.

Girls lunch and got some much needed caffeine via coffee. Food was great- had a turkey and avocado sandwich. Everything was very fresh, service was great. Will be back!

Stomping Grounds is ok. Seems to be the business meeting go to place in Ames, at least for me. Breakfast is alright here, but none of the portions are super hearty, I think I'd like more food on my plate. The Roast beef Au Jus sandwich (french dip) for lunch and dinner is really tasty and I almost always get it. I think their smoothies could deal with being a bit sweeter though.

This place is a little bit expensive but it has great food and amazing coffee and tea. I definitely recommend coming here for brunch. Everyone should try the chai tea latte. When you eat in they offer to serve you in mugs which is the absolute best.

I can't say enough good things about Stomping Grounds! The coffee and tea selection is large and delicious, the food is always on point, and the employees always treat me very well!
My only minor complaint is that there aren't nearly enough outlets!

If you are a hipster with a man bun riding your longboard around town this is your kind of place. However, if you’re a normal person go elsewhere. At this place “Biscuits and gravy” gets you half a biscuit and you better hit the ATM before you ask for a second cup of their hippie coffee. Lol not to mention they will only cook poached eggs... what!? Don’t waste your time or money here!

Nice place for brunch with a laid back atmosphere. Really great staff and the outdoor seating adds to the charm on fall days. I love the sandwiches and salads here.
