Great place to get the latest books and a good cup of coffee. I am a teacher and the staff is well versed with what the upcoming books are. Totally recommend.

Stopped at Morgenstern's while on a trip to Bloomington. So happy to find an independent bookstore with a great fiction selection. Bought way too many books including - shhh - a banned book. Also got a great cup of coffee to drink on the drive. Thanks, Morgenstern's!

In such a crazy world, it’s a blessing that at least we still have books (and this wonderful bookstore).

Super cute. But really overpriced books. And the coffee shop that's located in the bookstore is extremely crowded both times I have tried to look around in store. Making it overcrowded. And uncomfortable. You can tell it's a lot of college students. A very young demographic that they are catering to. So if you're looking for a cup of coffee and a place to sit to read books that you don't plan on buying. This is the place for you. Good luck

A wonderful bookstore that you could get lost in for hours quite happily. Impressive selection guaranteed to delight even the most dedicated book nerd in your life.

I've been here twice. The first time I went, I had a list of specific books I was looking for. I was surprised to find that they had almost every one. This included brand new Stephen King as well as classics such as Ursula K. Le Guin.
The store is small but I found it to be well organized and clean. They have a café up front which is nice because I love the smell of coffee while browsing for books. They also have a couple of areas set up for people to sit down and stay a bit.
What impressed me the 2nd time I visiting was noticing a whole section of books signed by the author. They also had a section of children's books in Spanish which is the main reason for my visit. This made me happy to see because yes I can order them online, but I wanted to browse through the selection and read a little bit before making my choices.
We definitely needed a bookstore like Morgenstern's here in town. This will be my go to location any time I am looking for books for myself or my family.

Love this place. I feel like they have a fairly good selection of books and those they don't have they always offer to order them for you. Everyone is also really nice and just giving good vibes. They also have tables near their cafe and chairs all over the store.

They say that you can tell a lot about a place when you go into their bathroom. I found the most amazing mural unexpectedly on the bathroom wall today upon entering this throwback bookstore. I proceeded to order a cup of the broccoli cheddar soup and it was served piping hot with a healthy size of bread. As I pulled out my laptop and started working and waiting for my next meeting to start the owner Rick morgenstern came over and we chatted a little bit. What a nice fellow and it's such a great experience being able to be in a bookstore and interact with the actual owner. It's a labor of love for him and his family. The staff here really enjoys working I'm sure and I enjoyed meeting with Mitch today to go over there website and offer a few suggestions. It was very busy today and there's definitely good reason why. This has to be the top bookstore in Bloomington and it's nice to support local business. Definitely will be back as it seems to be a great place to work with the super fast internet. Thanks for everything you guys do.

Wonderful bookstore with cafe, various little gift ideas, and great natural products.

For those who don’t know the history: Morgenstern’s was a longtime Bloomington institution. It went out of business after Border’s opened a store next door.
But now Border’s is dead and, like the phoenix, Morgenstern’s is born anew from the ashes! And it’s awesome! Welcome back Morgenstern’s, you were missed.
Anyway this is a charming bookstore with an excellent selection of books, a nice cafe, a selection of goods from local artists, and several cozy nooks for some quality bookstore loitering. It is one of my favorite hangouts and I could not be happier with their return.
