I really enjoyed my experience here. The staff are super friendly and helpful! Though I didn’t get a chance to partake in their cafe it was hopping and looked good, plus there’s plenty of space to set up a laptop to work or study. They have a good selection of books, though sometimes there is only 1-2 copies of a specific book. They have signed copies of
Popular books which is neat. And they have a robust kids area. Even the bathrooms are nicely painted and clean! Love this local bookstore and would go back again!

Phenomenal small bookstore. Actually, I hesitate to call it small, more like mid-sized. They pack a lot into a relatively small space. Has every major category that I'd expect to find at a Barnes & Noble, just more curated. Their displays are attractive and mix in a lot of well-themed non-book merchandise. Their giftware and original art by local artists and crafters makes it a solid gift shop as well. Nice selection from Out Of Print.

The size and layout of the store are just right...well organized and enough space to have the top books in each genre. Also, the selection and presentation of the books is ideal. I like how they display the cover and not just the spine in many instances. It makes it easier to read the title and gives you more information about the book at a glance.

What a cozy place. Morgenstern's has quite a decent selection of books, rivaling some of the larger chain bookstores I've seen, with a cafe as well (haven't tried it yet, but I've heard they offer tea, not just coffee!). There are lots of comfortable seats throughout the store; it's very easy to spend an hour soaking up the vibrant atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

One of the best book stores in the Midwest. Plenty of new books to discover, plenty of space to sit and stay while you work on homework. The cafe serves amazing coffee. It is clear they have paid attention to every detail throughout. Book prices are competitive, so, do yourself and the community a favor skip Barnes and Nobel and check out Morgenstern's

Morgenstern's is an incredible independent bookstore that we are so lucky to have in Bloomington! It's a beautiful store with a great book selection complemented with a nice, big coffee shop area with plenty of seating. They also offer some fantastic stationary, jewelry, and other gift items. They store regularly hosts events, including readings, signings, book clubs, and music. Definitely a local gem!

What a gem! A big indie bookstore with a good selection of both books and book-related gifts (they carry New York's "Out of Print" line of fun bookish merchandise, as well as a selection of locally made gifts). There is a nice big cafe in back with snacks, local coffee, and wine (!) available for purchase. Like the Barnes & Noble of yore, but way better. A great place to spend an afternoon.

Love Morgenstern's and love this book about supporting local, independent bookstores!
Quick, engaging read about resisting Amazon's devaluing of books (and all other products) by shopping local.

It took me a while to make it to the "new" Morgenstern's, and I'm so glad I made it in. In a world of online marketplaces and instant shopping carts, what a refreshing, dare I say nostalgic, experience to browse through shelves, physically handle books, and take some time to ponder what I want to delve into. The staff was helpful, the selection varied and well-curated, and the atmosphere comfortable and welcoming. A gem for our town.

Morgenstern’s is a fantastic local bookstore over on the east side of town. They host events like poetry and even live music. Their cafe has excellent coffee and espresso beverages, as well as wine! The books are all carefully curated throughout the store and the staff are always eager to help. Definitely check out morgenstern’s for all of your literary and coffee needs!
