We have been living by the local for many years but have yet to step in and try. My partner and I and our son went in for dinner last night and we have to say it was a wonderful experience. We try at least a new place to eat once or twice a month and the Local really got us hooked in.
I love that it is just within walking distance from our home.
I can’t quite remember our waitress name but she is so adorable and the sweetest! She was very attentive and helpful with everything. The positive vibe she had made it that much more memorable of the experience we had. My partner had the prime rib sandwich and dip and it was probably the best (I had a sample of his) we had ever tasted in our lives! Like heaven in your mouth! I had the taco trio and each bite was like the Cadillac of all tacos. Mouthwatering delish!
And to top it off we had dessert.... we almost never have dessert anywhere we go, but we wanted to keep the experience going! The cream brûlée did NOT disappoint! Made to perfection!
We love the unique choices on the menu and the selection of adult beverages. The place was clean and very well maintained. Other customers seemed to very well enjoy themselves and the vibe this place has.
100 percent, we will be back again!

We visited The Local for the first time a few weeks ago. Todd and Patrice made us feel like family while we talked over a great glass of Barbera. We returned for their Valentines Day meal and were just amazed. The atmosphere, the wine, the appetizer and main course, dessert, the service.....all just amazing! It was very romantic and it was so nice to see Todd and Patrice personally serving and talking with the guests like a family run cafe in Italy. The other team members were so nice and professional (Tiff). Great experience! Yes. An experience. That’s why I am writing my review so that others go and experience The Local.

Wow. I am not a Boise local anymore, but stopped in for a quick bite. Rivals anything in Salt Lake City. Great true craft cuisine!

I ordered the Mediterranean Salmon. It was delicious! (Hummus and salmon together? I never would’ve thought to put those two together, but they are a fantastic combination!)

Food was good but pricey for how much you get.

It's like "Cheers" when you enter! The bartender looks up and says, "Norm!" OK, he says, "Hi! Welcome!" It's very charming, I must say. Outstanding service and the fun menu is never disappointing in presentation or flavor. I had the Octoberfest Lager and my date had a Pilsner. 2 thumbs up. We ordered the potato soup which arrived hot and creamy. We also had the Flatbread (melted cheese, tomato sauce, arrugula and olives, I think? And the Brie with warm, crusty baguette, sliced and ready for spreading with roasted garlic cloves, brie and berry jam. YUM! (Please forgive me, owners of The Local, I know I'm leaving stuff out!)
I've been here for dinner, lunch and drinks & snacks and have always had the best experience! Love this place!

You want to try an inconspicuous place that has killer food and awesome service. Try this place. We went there on a Saturday night. Cozy outdoor seating. Top shelf wine selection. Food is first class. Great service. Highly recommend.
